Drunk Elephant - but cheaper for Dd14

Dd who is 14 wants Drunk Elephant skincare. I've looked it up and it's expensive. I might buy some for myself but I'm not paying £88 for moisturiser for her sorry.
What cheaper/dupe alternatives are there?

‘The Ordinary’ and ‘Inkey List’ have much cheaper products but with similar active ingredients (the packaging isn’t as nice though).
Which products does she want? I could probably make some suggestions for similar products.

Thanks I'll buy the little set and see how we get on with it.

This, it's what my teens use

Bananaspliff · 20/07/2023 20:37

Was also coming on to recommend the Inkey List.

Aldi do some dupes in almost identical packaging but they’re usually only in stock a couple of weeks. You can sometimes get small/travel sizes in Space NK.

Stressedgiraffe · 20/07/2023 21:06

Its the ethical and cruelty free she likes. I think its also all over sm at the moment.

If they work then I don't mind but was shocked at the price.

If she’s looking for ethical and cruelty free then ‘face theory’ might be good for her. They’re about half the price of Drunk Elephant and have similar active ingredients (they have ranges for lots of different skin types and to treat different concerns).
The packaging is even a similar aesthetic. https://www.facetheory.com/collections/dehydrated-skincare-products

I’ve used the ‘face theory’ clarifying cleanser and supergel moisturizer and they’re both excellent for oily/spotty/hormonal skin.
I also love the Pixi glow tonic but I’d use that with a gentle cleanser and moisturizer. The Inkey List is cruelty free (but not all products are vegan), so I’d probably use their oat cleanser and ‘The Green People’ moisturizer with SPF (https://www.greenpeople.co.uk/products/scent-free-facial-spf15-sun-cream?variant=41563586986029&utm_source=google&utm_medium=free_listings&utm_campaign=free_listings_feed&utm_content=free_listings_ads&gclid=EAIaIQobChMImdm_lo6egAMVSoDVCh3-IwcwEAQYBCABEgJZDfD_BwE) or Pixi pHenomenal gel moisturizer.

Gotta love her optimism though.

Byoma is a good brand with active ingredients. Its packaging is similar to drunk elephant and is reasonably priced. My daughter (15) really gets on with it. It’s been on tik tok as well. You can get it from boots but is also sold in space nk, Sephora, cult beauty Byoma I would suggest that rather than drunk elephant as if she gets on wi TV Byoma it’s more affordable to repurchase

I tried drunk elephant and wasn't impressed, I'm sure it's just the name that gets people to buy it.

BanningTheWordNaice · 19/01/2024 10:44

I know this is old but in case it helps someone else. Bubble skincare is being touted as a good dupe, much cheaper - I haven’t used it but reviews look good.

Comefromaway · 19/01/2024 11:07

She really shouldn't be using Drunk Elephant at her age. The ingredients are not meant for/good for young skin.

Plump82 · 19/01/2024 11:12

Q&A is a fab brand. Packaging is nice and bright for teens and they have a whole host of products. My skin is very, very sensitive and I haven't had any issues with it.

Corcra · 19/01/2024 12:36

Holos teen range is excellent

Another vote for Byoma. Cute packing too. I'm a fan of this
