Facial hair - do I have to choose between a beard and acne??

This is really getting me down and I'm looking for some help!
As I'm now in my mid-40s I'm getting lots of hair on my face. Top lip, chin, jawline etc. It's mostly very blonde, the occasional thick black hair. But overall, the impression is very fuzzy.
I've tried to get rid of it but everything I try ends up causing acne.
I've tried the peach fuzz razors and my skin reacted awfully, so I stopped.
I've tried plucking, but it never gets rid of everything and I end up with acne.
I can't use the Lumea stuff as most of the hair is too light.

Does anyone have any solutions for removing fair facial hair, on skin which is sensitive and prone to spots?

I feel like my skin is the worst it's ever been - hairy AND spotty. Lovely.

Have you tried threading? That's pretty good for sensitive skin.

Thanks - I'd always thought that was just similar to plucking? Does it work on big areas of hair (and can they see it all if it's blonde)?

I tend to find it’s an issue when the hairs grow back and they don’t come thru the skin properly so they cause a spot, mine have been massively helped by using a liquid overnight exfoliant such as nip and fab or liquid gold.

Yes they can see it all. It's good but painful. I'm a wimp though.

Also, do you exfoliate properly?

Threading is much more gentle than plucking. And they can definitely see it if it's blonde and fine. And they do facial threading so not just eyebrows. Lots of darker haired hairy faced women have facial threading on a regular basis.

I have my eyebrows threaded because now I use retinol (I'm 53), if I have them waxed it looks like I've got burns as my skin is no super-sensitive/delicate.

I go to an Indian lady who has a chair at the back of one of my local saree shops. She's a threading whiz.

I use a micropeeling cleanser as I often find exfoliators too harsh for my skin. Unless you have any recommendations?

Thank you, that's really helpful. Maybe I'll try it...just looked it up and saw a video of Trinny having her face threaded!

Dermalogica Daily Exfoliant!! Not the cheapest but it lasts for ages.

Wilkinson Sword razor, the sort with the block of shaving cream. Perfect for sensitive skin.

Same! I've resorted to electrolysis. At least it's permanent.
