Where to buy shorts if you have big thighs?

As the title. I have big thighs compared to the rest of my body and I struggle so much with shorts that fit.

My waist is about a 10, but my thighs are probably more a 14. If I buy a 10 they won't fit my thighs. A 12 often is still too tight on the thing and then a 14 is absolutely massive and falls down, but at least my thighs are comfy.

What I want is shorts that are roomy in the thigh region and reasonably high waisted. I don't have bad legs, just big so I don't mind if they are short but Id prefer them to cover the tops of my thighs. Help me MN! I've tried so many varieties of short and I just end up hating them, but I want to wear shorts in summer!

Ahh, these are the 2 skorts I have, but both out of stock. But this is the shape/style. My SIL who has a similar shape to you tried them on whilst we were on holiday and loved them.

I know that sometimes the tie waist ones can bunch around the waist - have you seen the metal button / clip style attachments that clip into the material and cinch it both sides of the waist? I use them and it stops it bunching at the front as it's cinching at both hips? You can also get the ones that make the shorts at the button hole fasten a couple of inches to the side that helps remove the fabric pouch too.

If you google "shorts metal waist adjusters" or similar that's the sort of thing I'm talking about 😊

Love the skorts @Mammillaria I've just ordered 2 from the Zara website after your post, always forget skorts, there's a few on the Zara website. I ordered a cargo style one and a polka dot one with ruffle hem in the sale for £9.99!

Oh thankyou, I've never seen these before! I'm gonna give them a go, looks like they'd help with jeans as well

Lots of the independent boutiques around here (Midlands) sell reasonably priced Italian cotton/linen clothing. They only come in 2 sizes so all have elasticated waists. They have some shorts with a wide elastic ribbed waistband and loose legs as they have to fit size 10 - 16. Loads of colours available.

I find ones with a shirred waist work best, the floaty type ones
These are similar to the ones I have
