Earring posts / butterflies loose AND poking - any ideas?

I have a number of earrings with post/butterfly backs that I can no longer wear as, firstly, the post pokes into my head when I'm on the phone or lying down/leaning against something with ear (not sure why this wasn't a problem before but somehow it's only started bothering me in the last few years), and secondly, a few of the posts are too thin and the butterflies/backs (I have tried all sorts) fall off and the earrings come off.

I generally prefer closed fastenings on my earrings, so I have a number of dangly ones that I've changed to closed french clasp (or whatever it's called). Is there anything similar I could do with the studs and open hoops with posts? I don't want to change them to hanging earrings (I've seen converters for that), I still want them to sit directly on the ear iyswim, but without the pain or danger of slipping off.

TIA

I use Lox backs as I was constantly losing earrings. Not lost one since. I wear them at the end of the post. I don't wear heavy studs.

Do they stop the back bit poking into your head too? I am finding I can't talk on the phone at all if I'm wearing these types of earrings any more!

If they are gold or silver I would get a file or some wet and dry sandpaper and file/sand the ends of the posts slightly. It won't take much effort to take a slight bit off, you might even be able to do it with a nail file. Can you compare the post length to others that don't stab?
You can also get spare earring backs, I have got some from cooksongold before. They do different diameter post holes and I would just get a pack of each and see you you go.
