Has ruined my hair K18

Had this post colour at the end of May, hairdresser previously used Olaplex - no problems. She didn't even really ask me just started putting it on and told me she wasn't using Olaplex any more and why K18 was superior, I have quite sensitive skin so was a bit annoyed but it was too late.

Anyway ever since my hair has been awful it felt lank and weird for over a week and then looked bone dry for a week, admittedly 'when' it's dry now it does look 'ok' still much on the drier side than it was before though.

However the texture of my hair is different, impossible to wash, almost like dolls hair, as soon it gets wet it clumps together and feels matted, can't work conditioner through and as i'm doing so it's coming out in clumps - it's been coming out for weeks now.

It's then impossible to get any sort of comb through, even with the lovely and I would say pretty rich blow dry cream I normally use. Again snapping with barely any combing. Normally I would let it air dry quite a bit before finising off with a round brush, I just cannot get the brush through until it is basically dry though now, by which time its set into the frizzy wonky mess it is if I don't blow dry it.

No new colour combo or anything, been colouring my hair for years and years, had similar hair fall after going v v light a couple of times. But it's much darker now and it was never this bad either time.

Tried an aveda conditioner and leave in spray which made it easier to handle but it just looks greasy when dry and has given me teribble scalp acne to boot!!

Only different thing is the K18 treatment. Has anyone else had this experience, what the hell do I do??

Definitely discontinue use if you are noticing damage and breakage.

I am in 2 minds about it. The first couple of times I used it, I was way impressed, and I didn't understand the feedback about people saying their hair was dry or falling out.

Recently I used it right after bleaching my roots, and I experienced some pretty bad breakage and fallout around my hairline. Was pretty shocked and worried. Am not sure if I am to use it again.

I don't know where it stands in terms of molecular science-y magic compared to K18 and Olaplex, but I watched a video on YouTube and the guy recommended Redken's acidic bonding complex, based on reviews of people he knew who had used it. I impulse bought it (only the most concentrated product, the 5 min mask) and I have to say I was blown away. The way it moves through the hair, it is like the polar opposite of these bond building treatments and how they make hair feel brittle and strawlike. It just feels like an ultra ultra conditioner, and it brings my wave pattern right back which is definitely a sign the hair is healthier than it was.

I wouldn't want to not use one of the bond building products, but the Redken one is something that feels like it can't really be overused, I just love it and will be buying it again as it saves my bleached hair.

A bit late to this post, my stylist kept telling me how wonderful K-18 Would be for conditioning my hair.
Seven weeks later, my hair looks like straw and Has never been so frizzy. Also, I had a severe reaction

My hair isn’t damaged and I no longer colour. It’s quite fine, and over last couple of years has developed a ‘pouffiness’ that I don’t like. I’ve tried loads of products and my favourite up to now has been Living Proof Triple Bond.

I tried K18 a while ago and it was fine, so was thinking about giving it another go. Came across a brand called Hairification, which is supposed to be similar. Used the K24 shampoo and leave in, and impressed so far. My hair is definitely looking sleeker. I did 4 applications as recommended and will now use weekly.

It’s on offer in Boots at the moment, £7.00 for the leave in, £9.99 for shampoo. A bargain if it suits your hair, but not a massive investment if you don’t like it. I really liked the shampoo, felt very creamy and luxe.
