Mastectomy-what do i wear- clothes help!

I had a mastectomy years ago and always wore a prosthesis so no major problems with clothes though nothing too low. I've just had the other boob done so now am boobless.
Haven't left the house yet but will need to at some point. Can't get prosthesis for a few weeks(nhs and don't want to spend £300 on a pair)
So what do I wear? Don't want to make it too obvious but feel silly with scarfs
Also need suitable tops for wfh on camera
Help!

Are you trying to cover up the flatness?

mens tee shirts - don't cover up flatness, but fit better

or to cover up a bit more

open jacket with lapels over the "gaps"

dangly scarf

ps - softies cost about £20 a pair

look at "flat friends" on face book

I don't know!! That's part of the problem
I'm too fat so now all you can see is stomach. My boobs kinda masked my stomach. I'm going on a diet when recovered.
Might look at softies but will need new bras as I want to go smaller

You can get much cheaper softies, the NHS also give these out if you ask them though mine left me with nothing. I have heard of people using shower scrunchies as well though not tried that.

I often do tops up to shoulder height and small arms or in cooler weather dresses and cardigans. Sometimes can find dresses which cover enough. Also find nice jewellery like earrings can help if trying to distract.

I sympathise, I look like I've got a beer belly.....

I've also discovered that with no boobs you cant tuck a money belt discretely under your clothing, as their is no "overhang" to tuck it under

There's a George range, type in post surgery for bras and swimsuits which are very cheap.

Unsure if this helps - but I would focus on tops with interest, patterns , ruffles, shirts so that the top itself creates interest and makes you and your new shape feel less on show - I'd steer away from plain colours for now - I'd also look at layering, a new haircut and nice earrings etc, good skincare a nice lipstick etc so people naturally focus on your face when you are WAH.

I would also suggest that when you're ready a session with a personal stylist or good friend might help you to see what others do and what suits your new shape

I wear soft prosthesis from M&S, also wear their post surgery bras. Reasonable value for money. Tops I just don’t wear anything too low cut or too “open”, dresses can be an issue as so many seem to need cleavage! However good old M&S have come up trumps this summer with higher neck jersey dresses.
As pp said go for patterns and pretty details. And yes to treating yourself to new hairdo/make up/ accessories.

I really love the look of ruffle front blouses but it was only when I found one in a charity shop that I realised how they actually really really suit people who for whatever reason are flat chested, balancing out top and bottom. Eg something like this. I first came across this look in France where super slim Frenchwomen could make themselves look more shapely. HTH

Try Fantastic Flat Fashions and Flat Friends UK.

M&S has a large range of post surgery bras plus the prosthesis (£10 each). I think the supermarkets have them too. Round necked clothes with patterns will work best when smaller (with or without prosthesis). Also remember nobody is looking like you are, really the only person caring is you - be comfortable rather than worrying. My friend recently had a double mastectomy and has chosen not to have reconstructive surgery or wear prosthesis, a personal decision and shes owning her new look!
