Will a fringe make top of head look thinner

Hi all,
I'm contemplating getting a fringe
I have some slight hair loss due to a medical condition at the front right side , sraight up from my right eye on scalp, its a bit like a thinning receeding type patch and I usually style this with a side parting to cover it up. It gets in my eye, I'm constantly having to fix it and with the slightest wind blow it moves showing my thinning scalp. I was thinking of getting a fringe . They pull hair from slightly further back to cut for the fringe don't they? How does a fringe stay in place without parting in the middle ? If I had a fringe iwiuld it make the top of my head look much more fine hair ? I don't want to make my overall hair very thin either as I want some volume . I'm struggling to find what to do or how to style my hair in a way to cover this part. I just feel like a have super shit hairstyle and I'm always embarrassed going out. I'm mid 30s if that helps

I have an annoying side parting.
I now put a root boost (VO5) / plumping powder (Batiste) on it, it's a fine powder that gives root lift then I give it a good wap of hairspray, got2b Glued (cheaper in B&M) is a strong hairspray.
You can ask for a fuller fringe where they pull more hair down but I'd still use the root boost and hairspray to keep it in n place.
Try pulling some hair forward and bend over your eyes to see if you'll suit a full fringe but a good hairdresser will tell you if a full fringe will suit your face.
I had one but I looked like Diane Abbott, didn't suit me at all
