Hair packing protein

Hi.

My hair is often frizzy and tangled very easily but recently I used a protein treatment and it’s great for 2-3 days but my understanding is you can’t use these sorts of treatments more than once a week so is there anything else I can do more regularly for my hair that lacks protein? Thanks

The old-fashioned treatment is egg yolk, lemon juice & olive oil (so mayonnaise, almost!) Leave on for an hour before washing.

For a more technical version, mix collagen with olive oil, glycerine, citric acid & water. Go easy on the citric acid, experiment with proportions to suit you. Leave on for an hour before washing. This is the basic recipe of all those wildly expensive treatments.

Among the expensive treatments, Olaplex are quite good. Less expensively, I like the Aussie products.

I’m very impressed with the kitchen recipes. I use a shine glaze which coats the hair and makes it much more manageable, less tanglyetc I use a coloured one but you can get clear as well. Lasts about six washes on me.

It’s called glaze

Aldi have a shampoo and conditioner (blue bottles, the volume range) that contain protein, for the enormous amount of 89p each. I think the range for long hair also has protein in. You can also buy amino drops so you can add protein to your current hair products.
