Fat transfer breast augmentation

Has anyone had the above procedure?

I know, years ago, the only real way to increase your breast size was with implants. I want to avoid this and possibly go down the fat transfer route.

If so, do you have any surgeon recommendations in/around London?

Would you recommend the procedure? What are the draw backs?

The drawbacks are fairly obvious. You are badly injured in two places, and then the fat can die

Hi op,

I had this done in London in October 2022, by a very good breast surgeon.

I don’t think I would recommend it tbh.

I had it done as I have one breast bigger than the other and it really bothers me. The surgeon said I have nice breasts, but I wanted them evened out.

for reference I am 5ft 6, around 8 and a half stone. I am very slim but you can still get fat from a slim person, that’s not really the issue.

the surgeon took fat from my flanks and stomach ( everyone has a second layer of fat underneath the stomach even if you have a flat belly)

I avoided having fat taken from my thighs as my surgeon told me this is the area where liposuction most often goes wrong, and a colleague of his who is v good at lipo agrees! And I think if lipo goes wrong there is very little they can do to fix it!

but apparently it’s the fat from the thighs that survives the best after a fat transfer, so yea it’s kind of annoying.

I had a review around 6 weeks after my operation and the surgeon said my breasts were now more symmetrical then most patients. But clearly that was still some post surgical swelling.

now I feel like I’m back to where I was pre surgery, as most of the fat has disappeared.

the procedure was 8k so not cheap lol, I don’t think it’s the fault of the surgeon either, it’s the nature of the procedure.

He said he can do a second procedure, but then I’ll have to take the risk of taking from the thighs, and I just don’t know if it’s worth it.

I am toying with the idea of implants, but my surgeon said he has to take more implants out than he puts in, there is the risk of capsular contracture, rupture, breast implant illness.

he has seen many women over the past lot of years with problems due to implants.

sorry for the long winded post but I think you should be well informed, wouldn’t want someone to waste the money like I did!
