Rhinoplasty

Considering getting a nose job but I don't know anyone who has had one so have no idea what the steps are / recovery time is etc. I have watched a lot of YouTube videos about the procedure etc, but how do you find a surgeon? How much generally are they? If you've had one was it worth it?

I'd be looking at getting it done this time next year so got a bit of time to research etc. I am based in North West and would really like the surgery to be as close to home as possible

Non surgical rhinoplasty have severe risks of their own! I considered one but have since decided to go for a traditional rhinoplasty

I had a nose job almost a year ago. Also based in NW. I had it done by James Murphy at Spire Hospital in Didsbury and paid £8k.

Honestly, I am disappointed with the result still, however, he has reassured me at each appointment that he will not leave me unsatisfied and I think he is very aware that there is still work needing to be done but due to swelling I haven't been able to have any further work done yet, have to wait at least a year. He was meant to be one of the best surgeons in the country which is why I chose him. I am just going to have to trust him that he will fix it and achieve the nose that I wanted because right now my feelings towards it are that it has been the most expensive mistake of my life to date. Sorry, not helpful probably and my experience has been quite contradictory to all of his reviews on RealSelf so maybe I am just one of the unlucky ones.

I looked into it and decided against it. While I really dislike my nose, it works fine and the risk of impaired breathing was something like 25% and I hate not being able to breathe through my nose

I did it 2 years ago. Cost was 7k. I found a surgeon with good reviews and a clinic that was easily travelled to. Recovery was fine, pain minimal, but just stuffy/uncomfortable feeling. Overall, I am happy I got it done and wish I had done it 10 years ago.

This is really helpful - thank you. I have heard that the swelling can make it hard to tell the "finished result" but it's good to know he's committed to making it right

Thank you. Would you be able to DM me with who you used/how you found them?

I had one about 8 years ago, paid around £5K. I had a very good consultation where he explained the different options for rhinoplasty and the degree of difficulty involved (easier to correct bumps rather than nose width, for example). He was also really honest about what could be achieved, which I appreciated.

I had a massive Roman nose, it needed the works. Nose broken and reset, cartilage reshaping at the end, nostrils reduced and reshaped. It took about a year for the full result to be seen, but from the minute they took off the dressings after a week, it was a VAST improvement. My only regret is that I didn't do it 10 years earlier lol.

Recovery was fine, back to work 10 days later.

I work with a surgeon that specialises in rhinoplasty, recovery is ok, not painful just uncomfortable, you will wear a splint for 14 days post op. Final results take up to a year but you get a good idea of what that will be once the splint is removed, but then the swelling starts, We do morphed images to gain an idea of what the patient is looking for, will not treat any he feels are looking for unrealistic results. Cost is around 7/8k depending on if you have an open or closed procedure.
