Summer tops for broad shoulders & flat chest

I am lucky enough to be heading off for a warm sunny holiday at the end of the month and I'd like to invest in some nice clothes that actually suit me.

I have broad shoulders, quite a flat chest, and a long torso. I'm 5'6" and UK size 12-14.

I usually go for plain round-neck vest tops but am well aware they're not that compatible with ny shape...I just don't know what is.

Looking to spend up to £40ish per piece as an investment - I want to get this right!

I like brands like Oliver Bonas, Joy, Uniqlo, Hush, Thought. Not afraid to go bold on print and / or colour.

Thanks in advance for recommendations!

Hi OP
I'm a smaller size than you, but a similar shape, and I find I look like a block of flats if I don't wear things that nip in a bit where my torso narrows and show that I have a shape. So I have mostly given up on t-shirts and I stick with little short-sleeved shirts in cotton, linen or silk. Cos, Jigsaw do them, and there will be lots of others. It might even be worth getting darts added to remove any trace of boxiness. Roll the sleeves to create a bit of an angle and hold with a stitch if necessary to add a bit more length between the elbow and shoulder and show where the arm narrows.

If you like a sporty/athletic outline, then tops with a sort of racer/halter neck to show off your shoulders and arms would look good.

Boat/slash neck tshirts look much better on me. I have loads of these. Cheap and cheerful so the inevitable chocolate ice cream isn't a disaster

V-necks/halternecks/assymetric necklines are very flattering, as draw the eye.

Off-the-shoulder and bandeau styles tend to give a solid block of shoulderage, which is what you say you want to avoid.
Very thin straps ditto.

Something like these?

Same here! Size 12/14 in "clothes" but 8-10 in bikinis due to my narrow torso/small boobs (& in a bikini I don't have to account for my Amazonian shoulders!)
Only thing I can add to this post is the miracle that is "2 sizes bigger" bra.....

I have a similar shape, just a little smaller 8-10. The good side of having smaller boobs is you don't need to worry about support. For me plunging necklines help create a nicer shape and things that nip in at the waist. Hope that helps!
