I've bought this dress but it's pricey. Should I keep it?

I've bought this dress. (Not me wearing it). Nothing really special about it but it is cotton.
The trouble is it's £80. Is that pricey for it?
It's comfy to wear (big and baggy so covers all lumps and bumps etc) but the price is grating on me.
I can't seem to find anything similar anywhere else, and believe me, I've looked.
So, send back or keep?

@SurpriseSparDay made me laugh 😂.

I would keep it, looks like good quality cotton and I think you could wear it a lot. I hate all the polyester stuff and the save the planet fabrics are hit and miss in my experience.

Until you accidentally lean up against the newly bleached counter top

Well I'm a 100% sure that will never be a risk for me.

Keep it.

Good quality always shows. You will get much longer wear out of it, and it will also look better.

StarlightLady · 06/07/2023 13:16

Do I like it? Yes
Would I wear it? Yes
Would I pay £80 for it? No

BlueGrey1 · 08/01/2024 19:49

If it is cotton would it fade and look ‘worn out’ after a few washes , otherwise if you think you would wear it a lot and like it then keep it

Changed18 · 08/01/2024 19:54

I think it really suits you.

As this thread is over six months old, I don't think the OP is still in need of opinions on whether to keep it.

StarlightLady · 08/01/2024 19:56

She bought it last July, she won’t be able to take it back now. 😀

twiddlingthumbs69 · 09/01/2024 17:37

I kept it and, so far, have worn it to death 😂. It's washed fine. I do feel like I'm wafting about in a tent but it was lovely in the summer

Redlarge · 09/01/2024 17:48

Always read the thread.

She kept it…a year ago!

Miracleasap · 24/05/2024 17:25

Can you afford it? If so keep it. It's not about it looking basic. I agree with the plain t-shirt comment if it's decent quality it's worth it yes. Lots of things look the the same but they are not though!

RoobarbAndMustard · 24/05/2024 17:38

@sarahh96
It's expensive for what it is. A loose non fitted plain dress.
Try M&S or Next for example. Much cheaper.
Definitely return it.

Green777 · 24/05/2024 17:43

If it’s going to be a summer staple, and it does look like you can dress it up/down, the material feels nice and it hangs well - just keep it.

I'm sure the op has missed the returns window by now. This is an old thread.

Bimblesalong · 24/05/2024 19:33

Sophie Rayworth has just popped up on Chelsea Garden show wearing it - it looks great!
Hope you’re enjoying your frock or have found an alternative you’re happy with.

Bimblesalong · 24/05/2024 19:34

Facepalm - wrong thread! Off to find the right one 🙄

Polkadoteyes · 24/05/2024 20:48

If you put in on and are instantly comfortable and can see yourself wearing it without pulling at it or thinking "it'd be better if I had such a belt or those shoes" and it's ok immediately, then keep it.
I still mourn the t shirt I sent back that was just perfect but too expensive. I'd have worn it to death.
