Does anything firm skin? Even temporarily?

Like for a holiday? I mean body lotion for tummy, thighs, stretch marks... I don't know whether to try something or its just not worth it. I'd rather not spend a fortune, think superdrug budget. Is good old nivea firming as good as anything, or garnier?

No .

Are you thin with saggy skin or fat with wobbly bits ? Advice will differ

Lifting weights , sunscreen , microneedling , tret , can help but it's long term small improvement

Exercise - toning exercise with weights
cardio will improve circulation and make your skin feel softer.

I know you wanted a cheaper option but this is the best body lotion and I've tried them all!

Skin will always look better when moisturised. If you're talking about dry skin that is rough and a bit parched looking, then moisturiser will make it look better. Also a tan will help disguise imperfections. You can also get moisturisers that have reflective particles that can make skin tone appear more evened out.

But no cream will 'tone up' or firm your body in any real sense.

So the firming is extremely minimal, it's not like removing serious skin sag with surgery.. Dry body brushing, exercise daily and Nivea body Q10 but don't expect miracles. You would be better off buying clever body shaping and clothes and keeping the body toning as a long term goal for next summer where you work out a lot and maybe have surgery if you want to.

So...I'm not thin, it's jiggly bits round the pool that bother me! I used to wear a bikini but won't now because my stomach was so badly striped by pregnancy. It really depresses me that I'll never improve it. So I keep thinking well maybe with a nice one piece and some firming cream I can make other areas feel better. I'll certainly be putting on gradual tan. I'm nit sure if that makes tiger stripes better or worse though! If only there was a cure!

I almost forked out £10 on a tub of nivea firming cream today. But I can't work out if there's anything in it that genuinely helps. Maybe I'm better buying a big tub of cerave.

Anyone tried bondi sands gradual tan that's firming? I do rate their other products.

Ps, doing 30 day shred, eating lower calorie, nothing too extreme as my last ditch attempt to feel a bit better!

OP why not forget the cream and invest in a really nice swimsuit instead - Next do some lovely tummy control ones in lots of different colours. And a sarong to tie around your waist.

Honestly, most people won't be looking at you close enough to notice any wobbly bits, they will be too concerned with their own!

KirstenBlest · 05/07/2023 21:34

The stripes are nothing to be ashamed about. Your body carried a tiny little fertilised ovum all the way to giving birth to a baby weighing several pounds.
Please be proud of your stripes.

I think most of us are too busy worrying about our own bodies to look at others.

Thanks all, I do know I should wear them with pride, but I can't help feel very self conscious, they are quite severe. It really has knocked my confidence massively. Otherwise I'd be in a bikini no problem, even with the wobbly bits!

KirstenBlest · 06/07/2023 08:23

It's OK, @Justkoko . You are allowed to feel self-conscious.
Buy a swimsuit you feel comfortable and attractive in and enjoy your holiday!

TheChosenTwo · 06/07/2023 08:26

I just go with high waisted bikini bottoms, I hate my pregnancy stretch marks that surprisingly weren’t too bad when I carried a 9.5lb baby but got so so much worse with my smallest 7lb one!
I know people say you should love them because they carried your baby blah blah blah, but i don’t, they’re bloody horrible and I wish they weren’t there. However they are so I just cover them up.
I’m sure we all jiggle in some ways around the pool, and I genuinely don’t ever think anyone is looking at me.

Justkoko · 06/07/2023 08:42

Just had a thought, does body make up work for this? I've used Sally hansen on my legs in the past and really rate it, but it's different with a scarred tummy.
Part if the problem is my favourite swim wear for holidays is an ultramarine blue bikini, (think it's pour moi) and I can't find a costume that fits the way the bikini top does. It's difficult to find something pretty with big boobs, everything is blooming black!

I've get loose skin on belly after 5 DCs and I wear the high waisted control bikini bottoms from pour moi with the correct bra size top with pride ! They have loads of lovedesigns so much so I'm reluctant to look ! They are quite expensive but they don't really go out of fashion .

Soozikinzii · 06/07/2023 08:47

Lovely designs that was !
