What did you wear on your wedding day? And was it your signature scent or something special for the occasion?

Jo Malone Peony and Suede Blush

HollyGolightly4 · 06/07/2023 23:28

Marc Jacobs - Daisy

I loved it!

catsoop · 06/07/2023 23:30

Une Fleur de Chanel

riotlady · 07/07/2023 00:38

Papillon- Tobacco Rose. I chose it specially; I know DH tends to love a rose perfume and I wanted something romantic and a bit different to what I’d wear day to day.

LunaTheCat · 07/07/2023 07:46

Coco by Chanel. Married 22 years ago now.
I wore it all through my 20’s and 30’s.
Still love it.

@Giraffesanddance
You need a Happy Divorce one then now!

SatelliteStomper · 07/07/2023 18:31

Tauer's Une Rose Chypree.

TimPat · 07/07/2023 20:30

Lancome La Vie Est Belle, married 10 years this year, I still love it and even getting a passing whiff of scent from someone else wearing it lifts my mood.

Bluebells1970 · 07/07/2023 20:36

Eternity by Calvin Klein. DH nagged me to get a bottle again a few years ago as I wore it for years but it was way too strong for me and made me feel quite queasy. I must look and see if they do a "lighter" version that still captures the original.

Romance by Ralph Lauren. I used to love it and the day before took it into my head and decided I had to find it again!!

This was mine too☺️

Decades ago - Anais Anais.

Me too, 1986.
Wore it for years after, can't stand it now though, far too sweet for my mature nose now!

LindorDoubleChoc · 07/07/2023 20:47

Honestly can't remember. It's such an unimportant thing in the context of the massive thing of marriage.

😂

There's always one.

I chose a new perfume, as I wanted to associate it with my wedding day.

I went with Lancome Idole and it was perfect.

mintbiscuit · 07/07/2023 20:54

How on earth do people remember what perfume they wore???

AdoraBell · 07/07/2023 20:54

Champs Elysees by Guerlain, picture isn’t fabulous

Your wedding perfume?
ktsch · 07/07/2023 21:00

Penhaligons - halfeti it's my everyday perfume. I didn't want a "wedding perfume" I wanted to smell like me

Lookingoutside · 07/07/2023 22:56

Agent Provocateur. My signature for 20 years though I can only get it in B&M and online chemists now so I guess it’s discontinued 🥺

Because it was important to them. I hope that’s ok.

Shangrilalala · 08/07/2023 06:48

Smell is indelibly linked to memory. One whiff of Casmir and I’m right back there, remembering one of the most important days of my life.

This is interesting

shame that people are getting sniffy 🤣 on such a lovely, joyous thread.

How scent, emotion, and memory are intertwined — and exploited

A Harvard panel explores the connection between smell, emotion, and memory.

Extraordinary response.

The same way I remember what was playing when I walked down the aisle, or what I wore in my hair. In fact, as a pp has said, scent is so strongly connected to memory that I'll probably remember my wedding-day perfume long after I've forgotten other details.

I have a huge perfume collection. I wear perfume every day and it's very important to me. I choose my perfume based on my mood, the weather, what I'm doing that day. I'd no more go out without perfume than I'd go out without knickers.

Funny how people aren't all the same as you, isn't it?

MagicClawHasNoChildren · 08/07/2023 08:03

I found that slightly sniffy question quite odd.

Either you wear perfume habitually, in which case it's a part of your life and your 'clothing', almost, so you'd remember what you wore like you remember the style of your dress or whether you wore court shoes or sandals, OR you're not interested in perfume but decided to put some on for your wedding... in which case it's likely one of the few perfumes you have or have had, and so more memorable.

I still have my Love Story. The same bottle. It's quite different from my usual choices so the scent itself is distinctive in my life (I wear, normally, Hugo Boss Deep Red, Penhaligon's Artemisia, or Lancôme Tresor Midnight Rose - occasionally, on a very hot day, it'll just be 4711 or Yardley English Lavender, because I find them both quite refreshing). It's a meaningful part of what I wore that day. I daresay many people find the same.

i never wear perfume and bought one specially for the day. Not hard to remember which one it was when you buy it for a special occasion. If you’re really into perfume you’ll spend loads of time choosing one because you love perfume and it’s important to you. It’s surely not that baffling?

Stella by Stella McCartney
Although it's a perfume I wear for anything that isn't everyday.

I struggled to find vegan and cruelty free perfumes at the time (still do now actually) so only had a couple of nice options.
