Mulberry Alexa - what colour?

I’ve literally wanted an Alexa bag for about ten years. I’ve been saving all loose change, any cash back funds, any small lotto wins for several years and I’ve pretty much got enough saved to buy one in their sale.

but I can’t decide on a colour

can someone help me decide?

this is something I know I’ll love so I’m happy to put my savings towards it.

I used to have a pair of knee length boots in a similar colour and they went with absolutely everything. Definitely a neutral.

I like the crimson best too and definitely think it's the most practical choice. Wouldn't it be lovely to live in a world in which we could have the pink one for a fun bag?

I was going to say Crimson! I have two Mulberry bags (from years ago when you could get them in expensively in the factory) and they are timeless. I love the Alexa.

Crimson would be the one I'd go for as you could use it all year round, but my fav out of the 3 is the pink.

I'm lusting after a mulberry green one with gold hardware at the moment.

I finally got an alexa earlier this year (having previously had a bayswater tote and a bayswater heritage). I only kept the alexa for a few months before selling it. It was a beautiful bag, but it was a pain in the arse to use. Even with a bag liner, it had a tendency to flop in, making it major fiddly to close the postman's lock; the additional faff of magnetic straps was a pain too.
I've got a mini zipped bayswater now (in black, learned my lesson with colours too!) and it's perfect. Zip opening, so zero faff (and no constant shining finger prints off the postman's lock - which admittedly, is a more than a bit ocd 😂).

I have a black on black leopard print one my mum bought me about 10 years ago. I was baffled by the choice at the time but it’s such a good staple and so durable. Enjoy!

Alexa is definitely my least favourite of the 20 or so Mulberry bags I have had and the only one I actually got rid of. I have a full chest of drawers devoted to the rest.

I bought it when they first came out and the leather didn't wear well. Like a PP mine "flopped" after a few months and the leather creased and sagged. I kept it for a bit but it just looked shabby (which is unusual for Mulberry) so it went to a charity shop where I hope someone else bought it who loves it.

It's a shame as I loved the style too but Mulberry is not what it was and I haven't bought a bag from them for 5 years or so now. The contrast in the leather quality between my early Roxy and the current ones is staggering.

Hate the grey (sorry, any grey Mulberry owners). Crimson is lovely.

Crimson is gorgeous! I have an oak mini alexa from a million years ago and it’s still a go to and goes with everything.

The crimson is gorgeous. I have a pale blue mulberry and it’s a total PITA for colour transfer, even the handles look dirty from the oils on my hands.

The crimson is the most tasteful. The pink and grey look cheap and tacky to me.

If it were me though, I’d get the yellow.

I have an old style in oak (tan).

Grey or crimson.

I don't like the pink at all, much too garish - but that's just my taste

How exciting OP, I hope you love your bag after waiting all this time. I have a Conker Alexa in the old style and it’s a simile colour - your thread has inspired me to get it out and use it again.

if you’re thinking of buying it soon do it from house of Frasier website as they have these in these colours in the sale for about £800 so a decent saving!

I have the pink and love it!
My go to look is a patterned dress, black based in winter and paler colours in summer and it goes with most as the colour stands out.
Like a few pp have said, the Alexa does tend to "flop" but that's the style as it's made to be a more relaxed look compared to the Bayswater. I bought an insert from Handbag Angels in the same colour, they have a match for every bag. It does still sag a bit with use but not as much.

Do you want something to "pop" and stand out from an outfit, or a bag that goes with everything? eg If you wear loads of black then the hot pink would be really eye catching. But i you want it to blend and you don't want to have to think about what you're wearing, of the colours you suggested I would say go for the light grey.

Can you actually go to the shop and try them? You might feel very differently in person.
