Wedding dress woes- I need to lose an inch around my waist in 2 weeks

Wedding is at the end of this month.
Tried on my dress yesterday - I need to lose an inch - 1.5inch around my waist. I tried it 5-6 weeks ago at which point I needed to lose about 2-3 inches.

For context I am overweight (BMI around 35), have been eating 1200kcal a day since the start of Jan and lost in total about a stone. I have an underactive thyroid and have realised over time I need to stay under 1200kcal to lose weight, eat around 1500kcal to stay the same and if I eat more than that I gain weight. I work from home full time at a desk so don't move much. I also have a herniated disc in my spine so am limited in what I can do (no hoola hooping and the like).

Have bought some resistance bands and small weights today, will try and do gentle waist exercises.

I'm pretty desperate at this point and am also considering medication / non surgical lipo etc.

Can anyone recommend anything that delivers results very quickly, ideally in a targeted area? It's a temporary thing, I'm not looking to do this long term.

Altering the dress would be possible but it's very heavily beaded and has a complex construction and my (very capable, dress making) seamstress has said it would be possible to alter but a) difficult and b) visible on the dress so am keeping that as a very last resort.

Very low carbs might work, but it might not be enough in the time you've got. Have a plan B, can you get the dress let out slightly?

@AngryBirdsNoMore @Tailfeather and for anyone else who wanted to know - very very late update (apologies).

The dress fit! I did end up losing the inches needed (and a bit more) without starving myself. I drank loads of water, ate healthy food (and not much but also not that little, we also ate out quite a bit leading up to the wedding due to family visiting from abroad etc), and then I had ultrasound cavitation treatment 3 times which is non-surgical and has pretty instant (although temporary) results, just around my waist.

We had a fantastic wedding and was absolutely thrilled with my dress. I'll see if I can add a pic without my face on (although that would still be pretty outing to any friends).

I am no model by any means but I felt absolutely amazing in that dress

You look amazing and your dress is beautiful.

I am in the same situation, have an inch to lose for my dress to fit and keeping altering as a last resort. You have inspired me!

K E T O

You absolutely could get half a stone off in a couple of weeks and it’s particularly effective around the waist.

I was your BMI and lost 10 “ in two months.

FannyBawz · 14/09/2023 05:47

Ach sorry didn’t see your update

congratulations you look amazing!!!

MsFrost · 14/09/2023 05:59

Honestly? Get your dress altered.

This is a massive amount of stress in the lead up to your wedding, and you are going to feel like such a failure if you can't do it.

I hope you have a fantastic day.
