Lightweight summer comfortable trousers?

I work in a lab where legs need to be covered for practical reasons. I feel the heat a lot and get super sweaty during summer and usually hate having my legs covered when it’s hot. Doesn’t help that there is no air-con in the lab and it’s usually even hotter than outside. Any suggestions for super light and comfortable trousers I can wear to work over summer? It’s a fairly casual workplace (most people would be wearing jeans and similar) but obviously don’t want to look like I’m ready for the beach and wouldn’t wear things like harem pants. Preferably natural fibres but not linen (creases too much). I’m early 40s, size 14 and have a bit of weight around my stomach. I work with mostly younger people (early 20s) if it makes a difference.

Hopeful bump!

I'm going back to work after maternity leave next week and panicking as I don't have any trousers that fit apart from leggings. Any suggestions for non-sweaty trousers for a fairly casual workplace would be much appreciated!

M and S is best for trousers, I find. But also , if casual, have a look at Mountain Warehouse? I saw some light walking trousers on there the other day.

How about some linen ones as they're cool or for comfort magic trousers.

Next and Tesco sell linen blend trousers, they are tapered so practical for work, and much cooler than other fabrics. You could wear with a cotton top.

I just bought some very light 100% cotton trousers at M and S called parachute trousers with an elastic waist. Bought them in store so no link, but you can search.

Op said she does not want linen.

Yes I read that, hence the linen blend as the fabric doesn’t crease as much as 100% linen. Just an idea.

Thanks all or the suggestions. I'll look into all of these. Never heard of magic pants before. I might be judging linen too harshly as I've only owned a few linen clothes before and they all creased terribly. Ideally I'd like something that doesn't need ironing as I've always been pretty lazy when it comes to ironing already worried about how I'll have time for everything while working full time with a little one.
