Anyone had or know of anyone, female, who's had a hair transplant? My hairline is receding since lateish baby and now peri. It's so bad I have to wear a fringe and can no longer scrape my hair back.

Would love any stories or recommendations.

Interested in hearing peoples views on this as I am also considering for the same reason. My temples are very thin and my hairline is receding (but always had a big forehead to be honest). I had 2 consultations in person today in clinics in London and both obviously said it would go great, and showed me a few results. I just feel like I don't want the results they showed me to be the few not the majority.

@2020toast
Looks like we're on our own here. I was contemplating Turkey - it's £2k cheaper but I'm really not sure.
What were you looking at? FUE?
I wear a fringe and can't 'scrape' my hair back, because I'm so conscious of it. I think it's a small price to pay (even London prices), but I want to hear recommendations...

I was talking to someone who had had a successful hair transplant today and I thought of this thread. Apparently women do have it done and that it's not that unusual for women to suffer from thinning hair.

It's a procedure that takes several hours, and is done while you are conscious. It leaves a scar, but despite his hair being very short you wouldn't see it unless you looked hard, but he said his transplant was done about 4 yrs ago.

He said he was not allowed to sleep lying down for two weeks afterwards, and his scalp was painful while it was healing.

It was about £1500 a few years ago. I forgot to ask if he'd had it in this country.

I suggested he wrote about it online and he said he might, and that there should be details of women's experiences on Reddit. He recommended treatments like Biotin that's applied topically, and to avoid spicy food.

I'm not sure if I got everything right, but I hope that helps.

I want a hair transplant I suffer from traction alopecia its awful and really depressing me. If you look up 'paigey cakey' (she was on Waterloo road) she had a hair transplant in Turkey for traction alopecia and the results have been really good its what inspired me as I've never known a female to have one before I came across her video looking for women who suffer from it.

He said that the transplanted hair grows more slowly than his normal hair.
In his case, the sides more slowly than the crown.

Me too ! I’m getting over a big illness which has aged me 10 years in the last year. I’ve decided I need a complete renovation and want to tackle my hair first. Have any of you proceeded and booked anywhere ? I’ve sent a consultation request to Dr Raghu Reddy. Id also be willing to go to Istanbul but needs to be an amazing clinic and not a hair mill. It’s hard to research online as it appears some clinics have lots of fake reviews.

OO have you considered finding out why your hair is thinning? I had really bad hair loss post partum that just didn't stop falling for theee years. Finally saw a private dermatologist who asked me to have blood tests with my GP. Turns out my ferritin was too low, was 26 and in 'normal' range according to GP but derm said it needs to be at least 75 and closer to 100 to maintain healthy hair. Started supplementing with 210mg ferrous fumerate and vit c (to help iron absorb) and use mens 5% regaine foam once nightly for 10 months and had massive regrowth. Lots of new hair down to almost my chin. Still a long way to go as hair still feels thin as not all the same length but I'm willing to stick with it as can see the results

I would love this but feel scared to take the plunge. I have light coloured hair and a side parting so it shouldn't be too difficult 🤔
I do know a man who's had it and it looks natural.
OP in the meantime root touch up sprays and hair powders were literally life changing for me.

Would u consider a hair piece?

I have a wig for nights out as feel better put together with long-ish hair but would want to rely on it every day and toppers / fringe wigs just make me sad ..!

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but does anyone on here have any updates? I'm going through the same thing, and starting to think about a hair transplant for a small-ish but noticeable area of androgenetic alopecia.
