Wimbledon wear?

Very excited that I've got a ticket for centre court.

What do I wear from head to toe to be prepared for all sorts of weather and hard plastic seats?

Ooh how exciting! The seats aren’t that uncomfortable by the standards of plastic seats IIRC and the roof means you don’t need to worry about rain too much. Hat and sunglasses vital, also comfy shoes as the complex is vast.
I’d wear a summer dress with an extra layer (jacket or cardigan) stashed in a nice roomy tote, with maybe a shawl or wrap for if it gets really bitter. Which it can.
Enjoy!

Be liberal with the sunscreen is my top advice if you are not undercover.

Otherwise go with what you feel comfortable. in the forecast weather conditions. I've been as a been as ballot ticket ordinary punter so comfy trousers and thin layers in a bag if required. And I've been to corporate tent days where I wore a summer dress.

If you're like me and want to see as much tennis as possible it's a long old day. Quite a lot of walking around in crowds and lots of sitting. Can get a bit chilly after dark and when the roof covers the court.

So yeah, sunscreen, layers, a bag to store stuff!

Have a great time!

Oh and you can hire seat cushions.

OfcourseitsaNC · 21/06/2023 12:33

How expensive are the cushions and can I bring my own in?

Will trainers be frowned upon?

Loving the idea of a big tote bag to carry everything. DP will probably use it more than me!

I agree with others, to take sunnies, a hat and sunscreen with something to cover up with if it gets chilly. I wore a linen jumpsuit last year with trainers and I had Centre Court seats. It’s pretty relaxed dress code wise - but I’d go with smart causal as a steer. This year I’ve bought a backpack cooler as it’s easier to transport and will have all my picnic bits and booze! I’m looking forward to it. Hope you have a lovely day!

Hire a cushion (it’s a seat pad) if you don’t want to carry one there and back. I think they’re about £5 for the day. But yes, many people bring their own.

There isn’t a dress code, so you can wear what you want. Do you know if your seat is in the sun, or are you under the canopy? I’d you’re in full sun, I would wear something that covers your back, and as much of your chest as possible, as you will get hot and burn if it is sunny. I always take a cardi and a scarf in case it gets cooler into the evening.

Always comfy shoes, and maybe a change of shoes if you’re going to walk to and from a station. And always a hat and sun cream. And a big bag to put your purchases and food and drink in. And a big water bottle so that you can refill, there are lots of water stations.

You can take in your own food, drink and booze? You don't need to buy it in there?

Revelation!

I wore a posh (for me!) dress and a peach denim jacket. The dress code really isn't that formal. How are you getting there? 30 mins walk from the station if flat shoes are your thing! I wore cream patent pumps. The food isn't that expensive but def worth the money! Pimms was £10 a pint but delicious! Seats were fine for sitting in. Keep vigilant for VIP'S. We were lucky enough to see some royals last year! It was a fab experience!

Oh yes! As someone said above it’s not terribly expensive for most things but I resented paying £50 for half a bottle of champers last year when I can get a decent bottle for £16 in Lidl! I also like my own picnic bits. You should get an electronic handbook sent to you that gives you lots of useful info about what to bring etc.
