Summer dressing if you’re short with big boobs

Help! I’ve fallen into a shorts and t shirt and trainers rut. But maybe that’s my summer dressing rut? I don’t know.

I am 5 foot with big boobs (32G), but I do have a waist and fairly slim legs. I hate my body shape, tbh. Great that I have a waist and slim legs, but my boobs weigh me down and make me look short and dumpy. I’m also quite pillowy and untoned after pregnancies, even though I keep fit.

Nothing suits me. It never has, I just don’t have the body shape for modern clothes.

I wear very structured uncomfortable and massive bras (the only way to not have back pain) so can’t wear anything thin-strapped or backless etc.

Midi dresses make me look dumpy. Baggy dresses make me look dumpy. I have young kids so don’t want to wear short dresses nor anything tight (uncomfortable). Ahhh!!

Give me some tips!

Just sympathising as I’m the same height, just five foot, with big boobs 36GG. I have a waist of sorts but could do with losing newly a stone which is proving hard to shift. For bras, I’ve tried all sorts, expensive, less so but have now discovered that of all places I’d never have expected, Asda have proved the best & most comfortable. I buy the unpadded, wired ones in 36GG & never had better or more comfortable, over the last couple of years their designs have been really pretty too which is a bonus.
waiting to see what suggestions you get for clothes. Most of the current style dresses make me look like I’ve been hammered into the ground so tend to wear seperates

Dresses with shirred waists are my new best friend. It means you can wear cool cotton instead of the usual man-made sweaty things because they have stretch in them. There's also dresses with stretchy tops and a pure cotton bottom. I got one from Next.

Thanks for this! Those waists are a good idea. Do they still feel light and comfortable?

Great recommendation on Asda bras! Honesty I’m always looking. Have never found the perfect thing! But only one brand alleviates back pain (Wacoal) but I find them very tight and uncomfortable.

I’m a similar shape to you and anything beyond the knee or too loose as a dress makes to look ridiculous. I just picked up a few more ‘50s shape dresses as the tighter waist and flared skirt seems to even out my shape a bit.

I actually live in trousers - Gap khakis or looser linen trousers rolled up a bit at the bottom - and those Next T-shirts with a wide neck, as again I find them more flattering on both boobs and double chin…

@NewDogOwner lovely dress. I’ve shyed away from shirred tops as I thought it would make my big boobs look bigger. Am I right in thinking that or do you find the shirred but flattering on the chest?
