Long and lean work for me and I am neither. I have bigger hips and a bum.

Dropdeadfred · 22/02/2008 09:11

long and Lean....uless you can do skinny leg?

wheelybug · 22/02/2008 09:13

Yes - I have long and lean after much consultation with Gap personal shopper - I am 5 ft and anything but lean !

TheHonEnid · 22/02/2008 09:14

(can you tell i live nowhere near a gap )

ah now i knwo logn and lean are offically out but god i love one partic pair - it was when they did allhtose different aged washes.

i got straight leg but tbh thery are a pita to match shoes too.

even in each sort you need to try several pairs.

havent bought jeans since the stright ones( diaster) so will watch wiht interest

Tutter · 22/02/2008 09:15

don't go to gap

get thee to a house of fraser or anywhere thgat sells lee jeans

i am uber jeans snob

but i think lee leola are great

hold arruss shape far better than my (many) seven for all mankinds

quite low rise at the front though

pooka · 22/02/2008 09:15

None for me since they discontinued the western boot cut.
Normal boot cut massively baggy round the waist, bunch at the front.
Long and lean baggy at waist, which keeps trying to head towards my ankles as a result of my thighs pulling them down.

I miss my old jeans.

DualCycloneCod · 22/02/2008 09:15

they used to do 5 yr wash and 10 yr wash and so on
then they did left weave remember

also SOME shades come with a slightly forgiving percentage of stretch so look carefulyl at eh label..
also they do them in inside legs now enid

DualCycloneCod · 22/02/2008 09:16

i cant eb doing wiht low rise nwoadays
long nad lean is as low as it goes here

Tutter · 22/02/2008 09:16

put it this way, the lees i'm wearing today cost less than 1/3rd of the other jeans (paige) i bought recently

much better value, but just won't do for evening jeans

wheelybug · 22/02/2008 09:16

The bigger gaps now have personal shopper type people who will run around for you bringing the different type of jeans in and will advise you on what suits - worth asking if they have this.

TheHonEnid · 22/02/2008 09:16

tutter I refuse to do low rise since buying the 7's high waist boot cut and topshop high waist flares

DualCycloneCod · 22/02/2008 09:17

yes i alwasy THROW myslev on the mercy of an assitant( nromally an older one) and say i WILL NOT LEAVE till you find me jeans

TheHonEnid · 22/02/2008 09:17

will go and look at the lees though tutter

i have to say my one experience of gap jeans was not great

they went massivley baggy very quickely

OP posts:
DualCycloneCod · 22/02/2008 09:17

enid
they needt o be TOO TIGHT initially
never buy a 14 ever ever

wheelybug · 22/02/2008 09:18

Of course you could always find a tk maxx and buy some cheap seven jeans (Am probably about to be told they are fake/last seasons/wrong cut/wrong colour)... cheaper than gap.

wheelybug · 22/02/2008 09:19

ooh yes - that was a handy tip the personal shopper gave me - buy then if you can only just do them up. I didn't believe her but its true (until you put on the smallest amount of weight).

DualCycloneCod · 22/02/2008 09:19

yes htey had em at ours
btu were too tight and low etc

artichokes · 22/02/2008 09:19

They have discontinued WEstern Boot Cut?

Feck! They were the only jeans that ever made me look long and lean (ironically long and lean make me look medium length and fat). What am I going to wear now?

TheHonEnid · 22/02/2008 09:19

yes cod you are right

mind you my 7s have gone fluffy and are only perfect when out of the dryer

OP posts:
DualCycloneCod · 22/02/2008 09:20

yes and then do lots of strange bending move sin the changing room

also gap vests ( for layering) nice nad long

DualCycloneCod · 22/02/2008 09:21

enid look for a diggin gin line aroudn the tummy

Cappuccino · 22/02/2008 09:21

I am going to gap

are there other nice things to have other than jeans?

Tutter · 22/02/2008 09:21

my experience of gap jeans

day 1: elation! they fit and look great! pinch slef. immediately buy 3 identical pairs

day 10 (after washing and wearing a bit): bugger, that's another 3 pairs of shit jeans to "file" away for another day

DualCycloneCod · 22/02/2008 09:22

too small

read this !!
