Brown permanent hair dye

My hair is naturally mid brown - around 5.0 on the dye boxes. But they all seem to have reddish undertones which I hate, and isn't my natural colour. After a few washes, it's really obvious. Can anyone recommend a true brown hair dye?

I think it was Garnier nutrisse 5.0 I used to use.

Look for one that says it has ash tones, but I used to have similar issues.

I use Nice n Easy Light Ash Brown. It says light Ash but I find it's just mid brown but no red tones in it. I've used it for years. It covers Grey's well too.

I've just used Loreal Excellence Light Brown which has no warm tones.

If you find any box dyes that are advertised as Cool or Neutral - buy a shade lighter as they come out very VERY dark (light brown comes out very dark!)

Also you can get blue shampoo. Superdrug do an own brand which works on my hair although reviews seem a bit crap. But I love it!

I hate the Superdrug website. That's the last time I ever go on it 😂

How about Olia iced chocolate. I've used that on the past and it seemed to cover my natural reddish tones.

Thanks all - some good options here!
