Camisole/vest tops with built in bra (not shelf)

I would love to get one or two of these before going on holidays. I know I can pick some up in M&S but they tend to come with the shelf and I have E-cup boobs (so this will be my port of last resort if you will).

Can you point me in the direction of some of these garments that come with cups/bra rather than the shelf if at all possible for a size 20 woman?

Thanking you in advance

Bravissimo. An E cup isn't particularly large given the average accurate bra size is around a 32FF so you will find ones there that will fit absolutely fine.

LuciferRising · 13/06/2023 13:23

I am looking for some too. What is a shelf?

Is the average bra size really 32FF?

Pattygonia · 13/06/2023 13:26

Uniqlo do a range of camisoles, tops and dresses with built in soft cup bras

A shelf bra is one where there is a extra layer of the t-shirt material and the edge of it has elastic and this band sits under your breasts. So can give a monoboob look.

Bravissimo for wired ones, they are really good, I just wish they did more styles

Fizzadora · 13/06/2023 13:29

There aren't any. There used to be. I am always searching.
I had a couple of lovely flattering Camis with a built in underwired bra, but it was in my slimmer days and they only went up to a 38D so wouldn't fit me now anyway being a 40F.
Can't remember where I got them from it was years ago.
I am bookmarking this post in the hope that someone finds them for sale and they don't cost the earth.

I can't seem to find them on the bravissimo site. Are they still doing clothing? they used to have a range called Pepperberry and I know that was my go-to place for things like this.

They still do the tops but a very limited range. They stopped doing clothes

I have size 34G and really like the Bravissimo ones - in fact I asked here about the vests last year. They are not cheap but I think worth it. The shape is nice, although they are quite heavy so maybe not so good for very very hot weather.

Uniqlo's are useless for a bigger cup, no support at all, I tried them but should have known better.

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 13/06/2023 17:15

Just to make you laugh @LookItsMeAgain I had a couple of M&S "built in" stretchy tops in a 36E.

Looking towards my feet...t'was like 2 bald headed convicts.

They were a lot tighter than you expect and frankly not very elegant trying to get into/out of...especially if you were in a hurry Wink

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 13/06/2023 17:19

Oh, and I'm also a hefty lass, the shoulder pain spaghetti straps for big boobs? was terrible.

If you do find something, PLEASE let me know. 🤞

have you looked at Manners London?
I started out with a dress and then recently purchased 3 vest tops. No bra at all required. They are incredible. Its hard to wear other clothes now.

i'm sz 20 with G cup boobs

@TheClitterati I love those dresses. Do all their items come with a built in bra? Are they true to size? Thanks

RaceToTheMiddle · 13/06/2023 17:32

@AbuelaGetTheUmbrellas I have manners clothing too.

No, there is no built in bra. It’s just this amazing extra thick stretch cotton. It’s holds everything in place , is mega comfy. Have a look at their website.
its lovely to wear dresses without bras.

RaceToTheMiddle · 13/06/2023 17:33

@AbuelaGetTheUmbrellas sorry just saw your size question. I would say they are quite flex on size, as they stretch quite a bit. I am a 8/10 and wear either Extra small or Small depending on what piece If clothing it is.

Thanks @RaceToTheMiddle that's really helpful.

I (with large boobs) have multiple from Uniqlo. They're good for WFH and flying but I wouldn't wear them 'in company'.

Effingmagicfairy · 13/06/2023 20:42

These keep popping up on my FB feed, thinking of ordering one to see what it’s like.

Freemans might be worth a look. Lots of vests/camisoles with support.

TheClitterati · 14/06/2023 12:18

@AbuelaGetTheUmbrellas yes as @RaceToTheMiddle says there is no built in bra but lots of support.

I got a dress first and wore it on holiday at Easter. Just put a cardigan over on the days it was still cool. I felt very comfy out walking all day and boobs stay in place plus big POCKETS!

Last weekend I went dancing for hours wearing a Manners vest top, no bra, and it was fantastic!

I am 20/22 wih G cup and wear an XL size. She has sizing advice on the website.

StarlightLady · 14/06/2023 14:56

I hate to be a party pooper but a little word of warning, the one I had ended up in the charity shop. I'm a 36F and the one I got rid of felt more like a corset. It did it's job, but the fabric was quite thick, certainly not ideal on a summer's day.

In the warm weather now (apart from at work), I just go into "bounce mode", which feels far more summery. And if people don't like it they don't have to look.

TheClitterati · 15/06/2023 11:30

Maybe you needed to size up @StarlightLady ?
I've been wearing my vest tops all week (its hot weather right now) and its not tight, hot or at all uncomfortable. Its hard to choose anything else to wear at the moment.
