I am very fair, with bright white legs - I won't be attempting to look like I have any kind of all over tan but I would like something reasonably natural looking to take the edge off the glare on the bottom part of my legs that will be visible in skirts.

I used to use mousse ones all the time as they were easiest to apply, is this still the case? I haven't bought a new one for years so I have no idea what's good these days
Something that you can build up would be good so I can see how much I can get away with - don't want to go bright orange in one hit.

Something more modestly priced would be best

thanks!

Following this as I'd like to know the same!

Flustercuckoo · 10/06/2023 08:30

I like avon's spray, I dont know if they still do it though. It comes in a spray bottle like the dry oil.

Theskipisfull · 10/06/2023 08:32

Yes following too. I use Skinny Tan but looking to try a new one as dont like the mess of the coloured ones although that said, their blue can of coconut tanning gel is colourless and goes on well.

I use the isle of paradise tanning water, you spray it on, buff it in a little and 12 hours later a beautiful tan. I got so many compliments last year, it doesn’t transfer at all and really evens out skin tone.

San Moritz foam medium with a mitt love it.

JessieEssex · 10/06/2023 08:52

Bondi Sands liquid gold gradual tanning oil - tried it last summer and now addicted! Gives a lovely buildable colour

StEtienne93 · 10/06/2023 08:58

I recently used dove gradual tanning mousse, after years of not bothering with tanning products. Very impressed and the colour looked natural. I recommended it to a friend who liked it too.

Bondi Sands gradual moisturiser (in the big blue bottle). Nice and buildable Smile

I use coco and eve. It is a mouse that you apply with a mit and a kabuki brush (back of hands, ankles and feet, face - any other tricky bits)mat first when I bought it from an Instagram ad I was worried I had just been taken in my a rubbish product but honestly it’s really good. Has a green/grey base and smells good. The kit has a guide to follow which I did the first time and gave me flawless results. I follow that same method every time.

also unlike many fake tans it goes on pretty much the colour you’re going to be so you can just get on with your day. When I used to wear st tropez it got darker and darker so by the end of the day it was quite a scary look lol.

CusheyButterfield · 10/06/2023 09:11

Bondi Sands gradual mousse - the blue one - works well for me and I'm practically translucent! Using a mitt is always best.
I got mine in B and M and it was pretty reasonably priced.

Seconding St Moritz foam and a mitt

lastminutewednesday · 10/06/2023 09:24

Second isle of paradise.

For more instant Colour this works perfect legs but it only lasts for one application and is more make up for legs than tan

trytopullyoursocksup · 10/06/2023 14:47

thanks! Stupid question - when you say "With a mitt" do you have to buy the mitt separately and what is it like? Will I know it when I see it? Is like a body scrubbing thing in like superdrug?

Not a body scrubbing mitt! It's made out of velvety foam, it's more like a mitt sized makeup applicator.
