weird question about self tan

Is there a product that doesnt come off and go patchy due to....sweat?

I get along well with Dove, but when it is very hot, and i have been sitting with legs crossed or after sleeping, there are white patches where it has come off due to sweat forming there, iyswim.

Other than that it is a decent product, but I just can't be arsed applying it only for that to happen, and it takes ages to scrub it off and start all over again. A water resistant one would be great, but I can't see that being a thing as then it wouldnt wash off?

St Moritz is good. They even have a fast tan so you don't have to leave it on for hours before washing off. The normal one never comes off on your sheets or anything so is fine for overnight and sinks into your skin far better than the gradual tan moisturiser which is where you're having issues

CherryPosset · 10/06/2023 01:53

Thank you! Does it go patchy though?

No it doesn't because you use a self tan mitt and you're washing it off later on

It's always best to shower and exfoliate first with one of those shower mitt things or just a flannel

HappiDaze · 10/06/2023 02:47

Use the Medium colour

batmansbike · 10/06/2023 04:12

I find garnier gradual tan good!

CherryPosset · 10/06/2023 12:08

Thanks, Ive never used a mitt so would prefer a cream or lotion to begin with.

Have heard good things about bondi sands recently, has anyone tried it?

I would like one that essentially didnt run off in the shower.

Bondi Sands is excellent. I used the hour express tan yesterday (great colour), have just sweated for 90 mins in a 35 degree bikram yoga class and can confirm tan is still looking great. I've also use their gradual tan lotion and normal mousse tan - also very good

Hepherlous · 10/06/2023 12:30

And it's a third off in boots at the moment

Looking good! Will take a look at that, thanks!

Do you mean self tan that develops or an instant tan that washes off? Any developing self tan shouldn't come off with sweat. It doesn't wash off either. If you scrub the bageebees out if your skin it comes off with your skin but it doesn't just come off

I use the Dove summer glow gradual and it definitely does come off in patches if behind knees, elbows and neck if in hot weather or overnight in bed.

Maybe an overnight self tanner would be better for you than a gradual tan

CherryPosset · 10/06/2023 20:14

Thanks, any good recommendations?

I use Bondi Sands dark, although after today I look like I did 2 weeks in Antigua. It develops over 6 hours so I put it on at 2pm and will shower off before bed then apply second coat and shower off in morning.

CherryPosset · 10/06/2023 22:23

With the foam ones do you h ave to use a mitt?
Ive never used those before and am worried about streaking.

And what is 'wash off'? I seem to be out of the loop!
Apologies for so many questions Blush

So yes to a mitt, there is a video on the website shows you how to apply it. It goes on with a tint so you can see if you have missed anywhere. After 6 hours you shower the tint off and the actual tan is revealed. It continues to darken for a couple of days. You pat dry so you don't rub it off and on me it lasts about a week with one coat and ten days with two coats. It's impossible to get it streaky in my opinion.

AHelpfulHand · 10/06/2023 23:39

Why don’t you just be happy with the skin colour that you are?

fake tan is messy and a massive hassle.

Bondi Sands, St Tropez, Coco and Eve, Skinny Tan, My Tan. Any of them. I've never had an overnight tan rub off

GetDownkeith · 11/06/2023 08:44

I use bondi sands and am the laziest tanner there is. I'm a slap it on quickly and hope for the best. I use bondi sands because it lasts ages and so far has been impossible to streak.
Yes use a mitt much easier and goes on far more smoothly I use a self tan brush for knees feet and elbow as well because I need a lighter touch there but you don't have to that's just preference.

CherryPosset · 11/06/2023 15:40

Thanks! Will try the bondi sands. Cant locate the express one online though, is it in boots/superdrug?

As for liking my natural skin tone - i very much do! And i don't want to burn it or dry it out. In my own opinion my particular tone looks a bit better in summer clothes with a subtle glow (veins, patchiness), and that's that:)
