Antiperspirant deodorant

My teen girl is getting quite distressed because she feels very sweaty. She says she's keeping her blazer on at school because she gets sweat patches and her blouses go yellow.

She's taken to using her Dad's Lynx antiperspirant because nothing I've bought so far has helped, but the problem is still there. Has anyone got any ideas?

Tried so far:
Mitchum cream
Sure Max Protection cream
Lynx Antiperspirant spray
Combination of Sure and Lynx

She uses block soap and is fastidious about cleanliness, so I don't think it's hygiene.

Dove original 48h stick works great

Driclor is the absolute best. Amazon sells it - it stops perspiration in its tracks.

Mum unscented works well

ilovemydog123 · 08/06/2023 07:49

I use the deodorant Mitchum it's a green one It's good if you haven't used it already
And my dad gave me a small roll on years ago it was a small white bottle with blue writing on I can't remember what it was called but I used it in the night
If I can remember I will come back to you
Dr will know what it called that's where my dad got his from

I stopped using spray deodorant and switched to roll on and had no yellow patches since

Also she could take it with her to school to top up

I prefer the Dove Max cream - but that might be similar to the Sure one?
When is she applying it? Some need to be applied at night.
There is also Triple Dry or a trip to the Drs - I had similar when I was younger & got a prescription one but it was incredibly strong & had some unpleasant side effects.
I really feel for your DD - its horrible & embarrassing.

There are products like Driclor that will prevent/greatly reduce sweating, but I think seeking medical advice is sensible if it's affecting her comfort daily. She's doing all the right things already, and it's still unmanageable.

Dove maximum, it's not a roll on, more like a stick.

Lasts me all day, no stains on tops and I don't sweat or smell. Also has moisturising cream in it so keeps underarms nice and soft ☺️

I remember having this issue as a teenager and it was horrible. Constantly dealing with wet underarms. It got better as I got older and I now never have wet patches. Not sure of other's experiences. I also found if I wear anything polyester it's worse!

Thank you so much! We have a Boots in our village, so I'll try the Drichlor first.

If she's sweating that much she might have a condition called hyperhidrosis. Might be worth a GP visit, if you tried all of what you tried and it hasn't worked. Some of the stronger antiperspirants like driclor can be irritating to the skin so watch out for that if she is trying any of them. I would be in agreement with @LubaLuca

I agree with other PP, Dove max was a game changer for me!
