Blue hat and a dress that goes with it? Tbh I think that one is a bit meh in colour and style.

Oh I feel like a princess in the dress which is 80% of the battle for me

@Possster I actually prefer the blue hat. The style is totally Ascot. I go RE every year so I do have a good look around! However (I’m going to apologise in advance) ditch the shoulder bag. Take a top handle handbag. Not huge but big enough for make up, phone and racecard. Pale blue handbag and you are sorted! Have a great day. Also choose closed toe shoes in case it rains and ones you can wear all day. Believe me, it’s hard work looking fab all day.

@Possster Shoes look great - too high for me but I’m older then you! Bag? Maybe a neutral beige? Hat and shoes are similar so something a little different for the bag.

Something like these without the king strap? Obviously quite expensive but cheaper version available!

@Possster I would just make sure you are comfortable and have a traditional handbag. I find clutch bags too difficult all day. The top handle type that can slip over your wrist easily are best. A neutral colour is useful most years. Let the dress and hat do the talking. I do like the hat your DH suggested but I prefer the baby blue and similar shoes.

He's right. I don't like either of them and I don't think either of them go with the dress. That's the nicest by a mile.

Do you mean it wouldn't have stayed on? Or just that the look is "too big"?

It's stunning compared to the other two- it lifts the pretty dress to another level.
