White shirts, make up and Scotchguard

This might sound a little grim, but I have decided that I want to spray the inside of my shirt collars with scotchguard to prevent them from going brown with make up residue. Do any of you do this?

Jesus, how much make up do you wear?!

Ariel cold wash is what you need, rub in Fairy washing up liquid first and leave ove night then wash.

You'd only have to wear a smidge for it to come off on white clothes, no need to be so snarky

Ok, I apologise.

Hairspray is a well known hack to stop makeup transfer, the stronger the hold the better, that at least washes out, not sure if Scotchguard would and how that would long term.

Thank you. I'll give hairspray a try. Shame about the smell though...

Doesn't Elnett do an unscented one these days? It'll still probably have a smell but it shouldn't linger like the scented ones do.

How do you do the hairspray trick? Spray it on first to stop the stain getting in, or use it to lift it out once it’s there?

This can be used. I've just bought it a light colored handbag but it apparently works very well on fabrics.

Spray it on before a stain can get there.

Hairspray stops make up transferring quite well! I actually spray it on my legs on the rare occasion I get them out and use that Sally Hansen spray tan stuff. Stops it rubbing off on clothes and furniture. I’d never thought of using it on fabric before!

Thanks @botemp
