I'm late 30s and can't decide whether I like it enough or whether it's ever so slightly frumpy??

The pattern looks like a uniform they'd make you wear in a travel agents or something

It's a bit Princess Kate, I think. Just a bit boring.

I'm 33 and i wouldn't be seen dead in that until I was at least 20 years old than now 🤣

Why? It won't look any better on a 53 year old?

I'm 53 and would never wear that. Especially not to a wedding.
I have a summer wedding to attend and I am wearing either of these:

I'm 50 and reluctantly wore a dress in that style (different print) last night cos I didn't really have anything else vaguely suitable. I hadn't worn it for 4 years or so because it was frumpy when I wore it then, and it waas still frumpy last night. I wasn't going for the fashion, though, so I just put it on and enjoyed my night.

Would people prefer the word "matronly" to "frumpy" or something? Although "matronly" implies a big bosom, I think, which I definitely don't have!

I think it's dull, nondescript and bland. I don't know what "frumpy" is supposed to mean, although apparently according to some posters dresses which are dull, nondescript and bland are fine for women over 50 to wear.

It’s a bit workwear.

It is. As someone else said - it's a travel agent's uniform or similar corporate uniform.

The Oxford English Dictionary says "frumpy" means.

dowdy and old-fashioned (typically used of a woman or her clothes).
"I look like a frumpy mess"

It's not frumpy. It's bland and inoffensive - nobody will really hate it but nobody will really love it either.
