Adult acne making me self conscious

I have hundreds of little skin-coloured bumps on my face. Few of these are cysts but mostly they are just bumps. I feel very self conscious speaking to people in the sun as it just highlights all the bumps.

I have tried several products in the past including The Ordinary, acne.org range, several face wash. Ultimately only a prescription cream and Dianette (contraceptive pill) worked for me. I’d love to go back on those but we are TTC.

I think the cause is hormonal and not down to my diet.

I have had these all my life and always felt self conscious about it. I would like my 30s to be better.

Any ideas on how I can get rid of the bumps?

That’s really helpful. Thank you.

If you can afford it, I just spent £200 to see a private dermatologist. The GP referred me on the NHS but the wait list is long and my skin was itching and peeling. I rang and they made me an appointment the next day.

Thanks. Has that helped?

So I've had bad skin as a teen, which has continued until my 30s.
The creams etc do help, but they don't stop them.

When I was pregnant, this is when my spots disappeared, then they came back with a vengeance after giving birth so 100% hormonal for me.

The right combined pill is the key for me. Yaz cleared my skin but made me sooo anxious, so I stopped it. So now I've just started Eloine, and my skin is getting better after only a week on it. Quite impressed and will see how I go.

All I'm saying is, you can buy every lotion and potion, and they may cost a fortune and help a little, but if its hormonal, you need to beat it at its own game with hormones 😊

I should have said yes, after 3 months of going back and forwards with the GP, the private consultant diagnosed me and gave me a prescription which had nearly solved the problem just one week later.

If you are looking for a skin care recommendation I recommend Face Theory.
