Duo may do them.

drinkmoretea · 19/02/2008 20:51

WHy dont you try stretch boots made from suede so that they cling to your calves but the exact sizing doesnt matter?

drinkmoretea · 19/02/2008 21:03

I have got a pair but there is a two inch difference in my calf size, which believe it or not makes a huge difference, always baggy on smaller leg or way too tight on other. same with 'normal' knee high boots one will be tight and the other looks like a welly.

Jones The Bootmakers had some a few weeks ago. I tried them on and they adjusted well to my skinny feet and calves but could also have adjusted wider. They were £72 in the sale though, so I put them down and bought a cheaper pair!

Janeite, I will look on their website, thanks.

tsg, I have found Evans are too big around the ankle and width of shoe. Also still have the problem of one boot having a very obvious bigger gap at the top of the boot than the other .

I really appreciate all your replies x

Janeite, I think I found the ones you were talking about, are they called Teagun? looked a possibility but didnt have my size. (typical)

littlelapin, Ididnt realise this would be possible, is it expensive? I only have two shoe repairers in my area, not at all traditional, one couldnt even heel my shoe without damaging it. I live in quite a remote area. Would look at doing this when visiting family now i know its possible. Thanks.

Drinkmoretea - are you into sexy type heeled boots or funky types.

Doc Martins do a fabbo boot - up to top of calf and obviously laced but also zipped at each side all the way up - so you can zip up then adjust laces to fit.

I have one ankle thicker than the other (V V Broken in past) and find these fab.

I realise they're not everyone's cup of tea (see what i did there?) but i think mine are FAB! - and they come in lots of colours.

drinkmoretea · 19/02/2008 22:35

JS, hmm, was thinking sexy type heeled boots but open to suggestions.... do you have a link? Will google...

how about a riding boot type withh a buckle on the calf?
[rummages]

MrsBadger · 19/02/2008 22:40

like these

get extra holes punched in the strap on the thin leg (you can buy a punch and do it yourself if you don;t trust your cobbler)

fishie · 19/02/2008 22:41

dr martens do lots of different styles, some are quite normal female boot. hush puppies also make reasonable width in leg/foot.

drinkmoretea · 19/02/2008 22:55

Thanks for the suggestion mrsbadger, but normally the buckle is only for decoration, have tried that in the past.

I actually like some of the doc martins.. will look into those further. Never thought of Hush Puppies, will have a look too. Thank you.

Dr Martins do a nice cone heeled knee high boot. I've got the Mary Jane shoe version of it and have had zillions of complements on them. I don't know how adjustable the boots are though, if at all.

Sorry but I can't remember what the Jones ones were called either so I'm not being much use!

SabaSaba · 20/02/2008 18:51

Gabor do adjustable leg boots, they do a really nice riding boot style with adjustable straps called gabor garda in black or brown - charles clinkard online/shops, sell them, also Jones the Bootmaker did have them, a few other places sell them online to.

fishie · 22/02/2008 19:03

drinkmoretea, don't know why i didn't think of these before, i've actually got a pair. german stompy boots they are great.

catinthehat · 22/02/2008 19:23

Dear Fishie

please post the rest of your favourite shoe URLS, particularly if they are as interesting as that one.

Thanks in advance

yours faithfully

The Carolyn boots here are adjustable but they only fit narrower than average feet.
