Please inspire me with beautiful crossbody bags

I am giving lots of my headspace to thinking about a new crossbody bag. These are a few of the ones that are occupying my mind. A Free People Hudson sling in a lovely raspberry / cranberry colour, and a (very expensive) Jigsaw Ada in gold leather.

I've just had a bit of work that means I feel quite justified in getting a new bag but I want to choose the right one. Free People bags generally are appealing to me and I also like their Brato Belt bag, but I haven't had that much work (£398's worth).

If anyone is interested, I am looking for a bag:

I can use everyday
That has space for a toddler's cardigan / water bottle / snacks etc.
That's worn hands-free across the body
That won't stain my clothes or become tatty (bit worried because the Hudson is suede)
That IS NOT a camera bag - they look a bit stiff for my style (although I realise the Jigsaw bag has elements of 'camera'
That is fun and will make me happy each time I use it (i.e. everyday)

My current day to day bag is a nice Joules (not a very on-brand brand for me)satchel style leather bag. I like it but I want something else.

Any thoughts?

Ooh the Free People bag is lovely. what gorgeous colours.

I have shortened my Wanderers strap, I tied it a bit. It can also be removed, so you could swap it for another. Ive seen one with a kind of chain strap that looked fun.

So I was in Free People today and the Hudson looked smaller in real life IMO.

But I did walk out with this - it's gorgeous and works crossbody!

Oliver Bonas crossbody bags are really nice. Straps are swappable too.

I got this Osprey from an outlet for £125 in a purple and cream/green strap colourway. Everything fits in it, coffee cup, kindle, phone, couple of cloth shopping bags, glasses, purse. It's a Tardis, the top expands upwards if you need to stuff it. It's comfy, and the strap width fits your requirements. I'm chuffed with it. bag

Does this have any sort of closure? I would worry about it gaping and inviting pickpockets...

I'm interested in the answer to this too. Also, how much weight can they carry without stretching or the rivets pulling out in the other styles.

It has a press stud closure. I do feel like my purse etc is safe when I’m using it. Hope that helps. x
