It’s another wedding one! Is this dress too bright?

Have bought this dress for wedding next week but now I’m having second thoughts. Is it too bright? I have read online now that bright colours are a no-no as you need to blend into the background.

I won’t be in any photos, except perhaps a group shot.

ps.

I understand that many of you will be tempted to post and just say things like “yuck, I wouldn’t wear that dress anywhere, OP” and “you’re going to look like a nasty skank in that dress” and “do you always choose such awful things to wear, OP? Or just when you’re trying to ruin someone else’s wedding?”

Please try not to be nasty. Obviously I am not looking for a character assassination. Just some wedding etiquette advice. 😂

Have also included a link, for those that don’t mind clicking through.

Thanks!

Isn’t it obvious? If Chris de Burgh comes on at the disco, everyone will be looking at you instead of the bride!

See also: baggy trousers.

🤣🤣🤣

Love it.
Love the cut of it under the bust and the way it flows down. Great for dancing and twirling in!

Hairpinleg · 19/05/2023 16:35

I like it. I'd wear it to a wedding.

I had to laugh once when someone asked the same question and was patronisingly told that the dress was really only something they might wear if going to lunch. At the beach. 😂

petalsandstars · 19/05/2023 16:37

I love it!

FadedRed · 19/05/2023 16:40

It’s a lovely dress, Op, and very suitable for a summer wedding.

(PS - Green is only considered unlucky if the Bride is wearing Green, not guests. “Marry in green- ashamed to be seen” or some such nonsense.)

jackstini · 19/05/2023 16:40

Love it!

Think that is perfect for a summer wedding

RavenclawDiadem · 19/05/2023 16:48

Not green either: unlucky. Or anything somber obviously.

Green is unlucky? First I'd heard and I'm 50! Have bought a green dress for a wedding next month. How can it be unlucky, i'm not the one getting married! Oh well, too bad so sad.

PBandBanana · 19/05/2023 16:48

Beautiful dress and if you feel amazing wearing it then you will look it.

RavingStone · 19/05/2023 16:49

Oh it's joyful, I love it! Definitely a dress made for happy occasions.

Hippomumma · 19/05/2023 16:50

It’s perfect for a summer wedding! Have fun!

GoodLies · 19/05/2023 16:50

Lovely. Just right!

DyslexicPoster · 19/05/2023 16:52

I think it's lovely. How long is it on you? I don't know anything about style but I think if it's quite long it would look more wedding. Knee length might look more summer dress vibe. But I think it will be perfect, assuming your not 7 foot tall

🤣🤣
It looks lovely OP

FoxtrotOscarFoxtrotOscar · 19/05/2023 16:55

Beautiful.

WoofWoofBeachLife · 19/05/2023 16:58

I love this dress and has given me inspiration for a July wedding. What are you wearing shoe wise? Xx

AnyFucker · 19/05/2023 17:04

That is a lovely dress at a great price. Gonna check if they have my size.

MistressE · 19/05/2023 15:35

Any bride or groom that would take issue with what one of their guests is wearing is utterly unfathomable to me.

Each and every one of my 50 guests were special to my partner and I, and they could have turned up in anything and I wouldn’t have even noticed let alone been pissy about it

Exactly. When I got married I didn't even know it was such a thing that you can't wear this or wear that to a wedding.

clarepetal · 19/05/2023 17:18

Really, really nice xx

Birthday suit it is then. Or is that also against the rules?

Lovely dress btw op. I want one but need added Lycra these days for comfort due to major surgeries.

Pegsmum · 19/05/2023 17:33

It’s lovely, in fact I just tried to buy it after being inspired by you-but my size is out of stock 😖

LolaSmiles · 19/05/2023 17:38

I think it's a lovely dress and have found the ever growing list of unacceptable guest attire on here lately to be totally bizarre. It's totally appropriate.

After some of the wedding threads lately I've concluded either I have chilled out friends or some posters on here are paranoid bridezillas who think their friends and family are looking for ways to steal attention from them on their big super princess day.

MadEyeMoodysEye · 19/05/2023 17:57

That's really lovely.

DailyEnergyCrisis · 19/05/2023 18:12

Im not usually a big fan of the brand Roman but they do a very similar style in a very flattering lovely floaty cotton and they feel great- the Simply Be one is lovely too 😍

Pieceofpurplesky · 19/05/2023 18:19

I have ordered the same dress for a wedding so I think it's perfect!
