Crèpey dècollatage

I’m 50 this year and I’ve really noticed the skin on my chest is looking crinkly and I’d really like recommendations on a suitable unguent.

Cheaper is better than dearer so crème de mer type stuff is out , unfortunately.

Any ideas you stylish, smooth skinned Mumsnetters?

I'm a bit crepey (autocorrect put creepy at first, yeah thanks). Internally it really does help getting enough water and healthy oils.

SPF even when it's cloudy out. I'm just using a cheap supermarket moisturiser at present. I bought some hyaluronic acid face masks recently which made a noticeable difference.

Face masks on the chest? That's a great idea!! (Although comically imagining my nips poking out of the eye holes 😂😂)

I meant the face sheet masks are really drenched so you can spread some of the moisture down!!

Although thank you for the introduction to your nips.

@AllIeveknewonlyou 😂😂😂

I liked Prai but it didn’t do the same for my chest that it did for the woman who came back from her holidays and posted before and after videos that was in their advertising a while ago.

I’ve been using Aldi or Lidl cheapest Q10 moisturisers twice a day since lockdown and really slap it on all the way to my nipples. I really notice in the shower in the morning that I’m washing the moisturiser off now which I don’t think is a bad thing. Sometimes I’ll add Squalane. I had quite a lot of skin damage on my chest and I don’t think it’s getting more crepey.

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 17/05/2023 14:23

Thank you all for your replies, I particularly liked the post about nipples. That was an unexpected bonus. I’ve got some coconut oil in the house so I’m going to slap that on for now.

Sunscreen is a very good idea. My DD insists I wear it daily on my face. I suspect that my current crèpeyness is down to sun damage and general collagen reduction.

Following! And wondering, can you do the same as for your face? Eg retinol?

Neurodiversitydoctor · 17/05/2023 20:00

I do retinol on gace, neck and chest 3 times a week.

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 17/05/2023 20:09

It never occurred to me to put retinol on my haggard ,aged skin. But then DD despairs of my slapdash approach to skin care. Give me a box of Japanese washing grains from the Body Shop and a bit of moisturiser And I’ll be happy. I do wish they’d bring them back. I can still smell it now.

I've just bought a sensse neck light thingy. Only just started it tonight but I'll report back in a few weeks

Iwishmynamewassheilah · 17/05/2023 20:43

Honestly, I find if you use almost any cream consistently it helps. I slap something on after every shower and at bedtime.

Puppylucky · 17/05/2023 21:16

I second praie (sp?) decolletage creme - it really works to reduce lines

Sweetnessandbite · 17/05/2023 23:33

Those silicone chest pads help a lot too. I didn't buy expensive ones. I find the cereve cream in the pot piled on at night means I waste with an uncreased chest.
