Removing permanent hair dye at home.

I was searching google to find a product to strip out my old, very faded blonde hair dye as I have a new lighter colour I want to use. I keep seeing baking soda and lemon juice as an option and wondered if anyone has tried it and did it work?

If not, what product would you recommend?

Professional hairdresser isn't an option.

Vitamin C tablets crushed and mixed with head and shoulders lifted my dark hair dye slowly. It's just a case of doing it regularly and being patient. I sat with the concoction on my hair for an hour at a time. There are dye strippers you can get from boots etc.

Thanks, I saw that on google too, glad I did as I've been using DH's head and shoulders for a while now and seems that fades your colour and probably explains a lot. I really need to buy a colour protect shampoo.

I'll probably just use an off the shelf product, I was hoping the bicarb and lemon juice would have great reviews because I have both on hand lol.
