Age spot removal on my face?

bellac11 · 15/05/2023 20:38

Can I get rid of these. They are flat coffee coloured (if you like insipid coffee) blotches on my face, at random intervals in different shapes

Im quite pale so they look a bit unsightly in certain lights

Is there a bleaching cream or something I could use, or are these a bit risky in terms of safety?

Is there a beauty treatment I could use, has anyone had experience of this?

I can see lots of advice on the internet is more about avoiding them developing or referring to the ones on your hands, I dont have any on my hands.

Tret, plus dermaplaning. Mine very much reduced.

Redshoeblueshoe · 15/05/2023 20:47

It never dawned on me that you can get rid of them.

seratoninmoonbeams · 15/05/2023 20:54

@SconeCreamAndJam oooooo. Thanks. Half price too. Ordering now 🙌🏻

sheeplikessleep · 15/05/2023 20:57

Laser therapy facial. Not cheap but really helped reduce mine. I’m religious with daily SPF now.

SconeCreamAndJam · 15/05/2023 21:00

@seratoninmoonbeams colleagues have complimented me on my great skin too - best thing I’ve found since moving into peri-menopause!! Fingers crossed it works for you as well.

Are you sure they’re not sebaroric warts ? Can’t remember how to spell it. They’re age related. Not warts

No, they are completely flat and just my skin,, just looked at pics of those and they look nothing like that. They're just like big freckles

Ive ordered the cream above and will give this a go.

I have just started a course of Lumecca IPL laser treatments for exactly this! I have seen results after just the first session…

wheresmymojo · 15/05/2023 21:22

Mine go when I use Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair regularly but will also check out the Garnier one!

Do they come back if you stop using the cream?

It is sun damage. You need to wear SPF 50 from now really. A facialist can help get rid of them.

StarryNightAddict · 16/05/2023 02:01

I really rate the Garnier brightening serum too. I only bought it because I needed to make up a minimum spend to get a free goodie bag, but I actually really like it! I have awful pigmentation and I don’t know if it’s just a placebo but I think it’s definitely brightening my face!

RollingOnTheRiver · 31/05/2023 11:53

@SconeCreamAndJam @StarryNightAddict how often do you use the garnier brightening serum, & do are you putting it on morning or evening?
Thanks.

I’ve been using the ordinary Vitamin C in cream which is higher concentration. It stings like hell and yet has done nothing for my skin! I’ve just ordered the garnier one after reading this thread so I’m hoping it works for me too.

I can recommend the Garnier serum too. I started using it in March, and although the spots haven't disappeared they are far less noticeable now.

mdinbc · 31/05/2023 21:12

Thank you for this thread. My DH has developed two little sun spots on his cheekbones and has asked my about what to do. Men don't usually care that much, but they are noticeable.

I also am starting to develop a few on the backs of my hands, so can target them.
Don't for get to put sunscreen on your hands, young ladies! It's not a spot we think of, but it's the first spot to show ageing skin.

Ohfgsjon · 31/05/2023 21:17

Laser.
Hydraquinoine and tret.

Solonomi · 31/05/2023 21:46

@SconeCreamAndJam which one do you use? The vit C or vit C & niacinamide one? Thanks!

It is sun damage. You need to wear SPF 50 from now really. A facialist can help get rid of them.

They can also be hereditary. I wear SPF daily and don’t ever sunbathe (a habit
I’ve had to reverse recently due to low vit D), but have one in the exact same place as my mum.

I hadn’t considered being able to get rid of it…might Google the Garnier product.

SconeCreamAndJam · 01/06/2023 06:18

@RollingOnTheRiver i use it in the evening then once dry top up with my usual Nivea light. I use P20 factor 50 in the morning during this weather as I easily burn. That’s why I use the Garnier product at night.

SconeCreamAndJam · 01/06/2023 06:26

@Solonomi I’m using the serum which I linked to above. I’ve just searched for Garnier vitamin C serum and apparently there’s a nighttime one with a much higher % - of what I don’t know as just saw it.

RollingOnTheRiver · 01/06/2023 17:41

Thanks @SconeCreamAndJam my next question was going to ask if you then put moisturiser on so thanks also for that. I’ve been wearing factor 50 on my face for years so I’m cross I’ve got dark spots. Really hoping this helps.
