What do you think of this outfit?

I'm going to four weddings this year; in April, May, August and November. today I bought one out fit that I hope will do for all but the August one (different groups of friends so no one will se me in it twice).

I bought this dress, this bag, these shoes and but in lemon yellow.

So ladies help me decide if:

a)I could wear the dress and lemon cardi to the spring weddings and save some cash by buying cheaper black shoes and bag?

b)I could wear the dress to the November wedding with black cardi and accessories?

c)I should just go with what I've got for spring ie lemon cardi, shoes and bag?

I'm feeling a bit guilty about splashing out so much cash on myself when I would never normally spend so much. Any advice to make me feel less guilty would be good!

Those links are rubbish, sorry.

The Hanna dress, shula bag, imelda shoes and black bolero cardigan.

i think i would go for grey accessories instead of black

nobodysfool · 18/02/2008 22:16

Can i have them when your finished with them they are bloody lovely!

LaDiDaDi · 18/02/2008 22:22

Thanks for links little lapin. That's what I keep thinking, "wow, that's a yellow outfit!"

I know that the leaves look grey on that pic but they are more charcoal black in reality, I'm not sure grey would work tbh unless it was exactly the right shade.

I haven't got the dress at homew now as the only one they had in my size had a click in so they are going to order me another one in then I will have to try it all on and see what I think. I felt a bit pressured in the shop, by the saleswoman and my mother, to buy the whole caboodle and now I'm thinking "hmm do really want to spend all that cash on a yellow bag and shoes if black would look ok??"

well... the yellow looks nice enough. with that outfit. but yes, black would look good enough too...

if you want to save the ££ and spend it on something else, like.

(coz you have Da in your name, i assumed you were a dad before this thread btw [hopes you are not offended by that, coz you oughtnt to be!])

saadia · 18/02/2008 22:42

I would not go for yellow shoes and bag - too much yellow I think, but the dress is lovely, I think black shoes and bag would work better.

[thinks i would be easily railroaded by my mum and an overzealous shop assistant too... and return the yellow next day also]

SnappyVelour · 18/02/2008 22:45

lapin

sorry ladidadi!

leeetlelappin · 18/02/2008 22:52

Yes, I agree, black accessories would be much better

LaDiDaDi · 19/02/2008 09:52

I'm definitely a woman!!!

Have decided to take back the yellow bag and shoes and buy cheaper and more useful black ones in their place. Will keep the dress and yellow cardi.

Thanks everyone .

I think the yellow bag and shoes are to much.

I would have gone with black bag & shoes then some yellow bangles, maybe a yellow ring

if you are fabulously rich

Disenchanted · 19/02/2008 09:59

ooh, ooh, this!!

Mojomummy · 20/02/2008 18:28

..go for the yellow shoes. Black is so dull & predictable & the yellow pair is just FAB !!

DarthVader · 20/02/2008 18:39

Love it all except for the bag
Yellow shoes make the outfit more special imo
