Achieving a smooth silhouette in a stretchy dress

Is there a secret I don't know?

I have done the usual faff on with:

  1. underwear which 'holds you in' and forces the lumps to relocate
  1. Smoothing dress slips which settle around my waist like an obstinate tubi-grip.
  1. Bralettes to avoid sporting another pair of boobs just below my shoulder blades, causing my exhausted breasts to flop about like beagle ears

4, thong knickers which are just not substantial enough for my rear which needs support

I have a lovely Adidas stretchy dress to wear for my two 50th birthday events in the summer and a gorgeous pair of Ewing high top trainers, but none of it will be lovely if I am lumpy and I want to be able to dance which isn't a winner with the support-type underwear.

The other school mum's manage to wear leggings without any VPL whatsoever.

Tell me what I need to know please. I am a size 12 and a good shape if a little saggy and lumpy.

No concrete help yet I'm afraid but following as I have a similar issue!

I would say that can find the right bra, however. There will be one out there which supports your breasts without causing backfat issues. If it is the correct size the band should not ride up at the back and as a size 12 I bet you don't have that much back fat to spill over. I really rate Bravissimo Niya for looking great under clothes but aware it's all about individual shape and size.

I'm wondering about trying Snag's v high waisted knickers. I always end up feeling suffocated in actual shape wear but these look like they might be gently smoothing.

I find that body suits (Skims, or the many cheaper brands) help a lot. Pull you in and create a smooth line, but without redistributing the bulges elsewhere!

Both worth trying thank you - I sometimes feel this will be my unfinished life's work Grin

I read a thread on here about Bravissimo being well fitting.

Shapewear is a new one one me - if it works like tights then that would be great.
