Powder over foundation

I'm 50 and often think I should stop using powder over foundation. I find it makes the wrinkles under my eyes more noticeable. I now do the lightest dusting of loose powder possible.
How can I stop using it all together without my foundation sliding off. It feels wrong to not 'set' it.

I use powder because I hate the feeling of foundation on my skin. I use pat mcgrath under eye powder. It's brilliant sets makeup but doesn't settle in my lines ( 44 btw)

It's why I started using tinted moisturiser @superplumb (64 here)

I like bare minerals veil powder. You only need a tiny amount.

Like PP have said, I'm finding tinted moisturiser seems to give a better finish on my skin, as I get older.

Those people who use a setting spray: What do they actually do and can they replace powder?

I only use powder on the t zone and use hourglass or By Terry.

I'm 40 and don't wear any make up as I have flawless skin due to never wearing make up and frequently get told I look late 20s not 40.

That's not why you have flawless skin 🙄

OP try applying powder BEFORE foundation, works really well. Lots of you tube about it .

Thanks very much everyone. Lots to try. Yes, it's the 'cakey' look, it's awful. Will try the powder under foundation today and see how that goes. I also have some body shop setting spray I can try. I'm just stuck in old habits and in need of a serious update.
Can anyone recommend a good primer?
