WHITE TRAINERS - comfy ones that have arch support?

PhyllisFogg · 11/05/2023 17:26

I'm looking for fashion trainers, ideally white but a bit of grey or navy would be ok.

I sometimes walk miles and need trainers that are comfy and have some arch support, rather than a totally flat plimsol type like Superga and Converse. But are still fashionable. I will wear them with summer dresses, jeans and smarter trousers.

I currently have some from J Lewis (own brand and Any Day) that are fine for short walks but my legs ache after a while as the soles are so flat.

I am slightly against New Balance as hate logos and the big N so anything else?
I have narrow, shallow feet.

Another vote for fitflops. Nearly all my shoes are fitflop now, they are just so comfortable.

me too

Another option is to get a pair of orthotic insoles to put inside your shoes. My Mum (60s) has special ones made at her podiatrist which are moulded to the shape of her feet, and just puts them in whichever pair of shoes she's wearing each day. You can probably buy off the shelf ones too.

Thanks for all the tips!

I think I was a bit inaccurate with my first post. It's not so much the arch support (I have good arches and my feet are fine) I just can't walk long distances in totally flat soles.

So many 'trainers' that are listed as trainers aren't - they are totally flat, like very basis plimsoles, not like 'proper' walking trainers or running trainers.

Skechers Arch Fit white trainers.

I was at the hospital with my parent recently and noticed all the staff (on their feet for long shifts) were in Asics or Sketchers.

DD works in a pharmacy and is on her feet all day. They all wear Skechers. When she went to buy some the helpful sales assistant overheard us talking about her job and straight away brought some shoes that he said nearly all the nurses wore. Then told DD she was entitled to blue light discount.

Sketchers bobs are amazingly comfy but I'm not sure they are robust enough to do a lot of walking in.

Another vote for adidas from me

Maddy70 · 12/05/2023 08:24

I wear converse with an arch support insole

Sorry Op rushing someone might have ready said but if not the only shoes I'll ever reccomend are Kickers! Kickers do a full white trainer, you feet will love you so much. I've tried every shoe out there and have 3 pairs of kickers, one of which I've owned for 11 years! Absolutely amazing shoes and the kids ones are the same but half the price!

nearlyemptynes · 12/05/2023 09:19

I wear fit flop toe posts and boots both are so comfy.

bouncydog · 12/05/2023 09:20

Just bought sketchers white animal as they have leopard print across the backs! Most comfy trainers ever - I have narrow heels and they don’t gape like other brands - and they’re machine washable!

CaptainNelson · 12/05/2023 09:32

Another vote for Allbirds tree dashers. Fanstastically comfy, no logos and look good

EvelynKatie · 12/05/2023 09:38

My Adidas ones are very comfortable.

I love my Nike ones too.

Air and Grace trainers are lovely!

Sengi · 12/05/2023 09:45

Yes to Fitflops, I have lots of different styles and all are great. I haven't yet tried the 'Vitamin' style, but they have more of a shaped sole than rallys. M&M have a few styles less than half price at the moment.

Just got some Skechers Bobs and comfiest white trainer I’ve ever had!

I was just coming on to recommend the Skechers Bobs too. I bought them a couple of weeks ago and love them. Not only do they look good as they are significantly less bulky looking than many pair I tried but they are so comfy too. I normally struggle to wear trainers without some type of liner sock but I don't need anything with these. I've just bought them in grey and black as well (there was an offer on!).

Shufflebumnessie · 12/05/2023 10:06

Just seen your update. Skechers Bobs probably aren't what you're looking for as they are more on the 'delicate' side.

Twinklewonderkins · 12/05/2023 12:26

I have some leather ones from Fred Perry which are super comfy and retro ish in the manner of converse

Meadowflower2023 · 12/05/2023 13:05

I have these as I don't like too flat either - they go with everything!

WHITE TRAINERS - comfy ones that have arch support?
HostessTrolley · 12/05/2023 18:11

I just bought my second pair of these as my dog ate the first ones. They have 'cloud foam' insoles and are comfy straight from the box, I have wide feet and these are great. There's also 35% off if you have a blue light card, my new pair were £42 including delivery

I saw someonw wearing a pair of those in a coffee shop today and was admiring them @HostessTrolley.

Do they have arch support Hostess?

drippyavecdrip · 12/05/2023 23:29

Nike air force ones would be my recommendation. Really comfortable and definitely easy to get in the colours you like

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 13/05/2023 06:58

100% Fitflop Rally

Oldraver · 13/05/2023 11:48

Try Rebok Classics

The most uncomfortable was a pair of Sketchers arch fit (as I also need something for high arches) and they started to disintegrate after a few months

I have a pair of Sketchers Bobs and yes they are lovely and comfortable, the elasticated heels and Terry lined backs are a dream but..... I found the soles a little light weight so probably would wear them for hours if walking, though except that may not be the case for others

OP this also drives me mad that lots of shoes are now 'flat' I bloody well blame the fashion for those gladiator monstrosities a few years ago. In years to come there will be tons of women with sure feet
