Anyone have a keeping the nozzle on hairdryer tip?

I don't want to buy a new hairdryer just because of this. I have a Toni and Guy (which is a pretty good dupe for the GHD) but the nozzle clip broke and it keeps falling off.

I have had it held on with a head band wrapped around a few times, but this isn't working now after the heat seemed to stretch the head band. I saw there is some sort of rubber sleeve attachment that is available, but sadly not where I live.

I can't be the only one with this issue, so hoping someone else can suggest a better idea that I haven't thought of yet.

I can't return it as it is out of warranty and I can't buy a replacement nozzle for it either.

If you search 'hair dryer nozzle' on Amazon, you may find one that fits

Gaffer tape?

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 11/05/2023 16:09

Temporary - Ptfe tape, gaffer tape, parcel tape. Strong superglue - although this would be permanent.

I'm sure these will melt. I did consider them but am not sure they will cope with the heat.

No Amazon here unfortunately, and I also haven't managed to find something similar to the latex pull over thingies that I did see on there.

So I have to plan c as my plan b didn't work very well 🙈

Electrical tape

OrderOfTheKookaburra · 11/05/2023 18:03

Gaffa tape, might go soft but won't actually melt.

KirstenBlest · 11/05/2023 18:40

Not sticky tape - the glue will melt and ooze out.
Superglue might work

I am putting full faith in you MrsPelligrino 😀

I have found some random blue tape I bought for goodness knows what, but I see its heat resistant to 120 degrees. I am sure a hairdryer goes way past that temp, but I will give it a go.

And the old stretched out hairband can now retire...

I it just such an annoying minor problem, but when the nozzle keeps flying off all the time while using it, it becomes majorly annoying.

Thanks all for the input.

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor , The tape won't but the glue will and the edge of the tape will be sticky from it

My house is held together with gaffer tape! Try it 😂

There is specialist glue you can buy for oven doors - if you look up oven glue, you should be able to find it. I'd try that as it should be heat resistant to 250C. It generally come with a nozzle so you can place it exactly where you need it.
Disclaimer - I've never tried it on a hairdryer!!

Weld it on?

I’ve never used it on a hairdryer but have used it on an oven and can recommend. If it’s suitable for plastic I can’t think why it wouldn’t work!
