Anyone fixed their body insecurities?

I don’t mean accepted yourself as you are but have actually sorted out the area you are unhappy about? At 45, I am on a mission to finally stop moaning and do something about my legs - slim down, muscle definition, thread veins, cellulite...

I have not loved them since teenage years but it’s only now when the knees started to ache, I have learned to appreciate how much I love my legs, why I am not giving them TLC instead of slagging the off.

Any success stories for inspiration and motivation?

Kind of. But TBH it's a bit of both. I go to the gym and do yoga, so they're a little more defined, I drink less alcohol and eat better so the cellulite is a little better. And thread veins, well a tan makes that look a little better. But really what's helped me is getting older (a couple of years older than you OP), appreciating the legs I've got and the job they do and just wearing the damn shorts.
And I regret all the time I spent angsting over them and I am NOT doing it any more!

I don’t know if I did anything about it consciously but my skin has cleared up in the last couple of years (after ~20 years of acne from age 10). I put it down to less sugar, more water but mainly my skin becoming less oily with age!

At the moment I am trying to get back to my optimum size of UK 4-6 from a size 8 (I’m petite so this is not super thin or anything) because I’m somewhat insecure about the extra weight. It’s a long old process though, because it’s so much harder to lose weight now than it was in my 20s… :(

Yes. By not letting perfect be the enemy of good and doing the best you can with what you've got.
There's a great deal that can be done to get your body to look better (if that's what you want to do!) but you need to let go of perfection and manage your expectations. At 53, I'm never going to have a perfect, smooth toned waistline in a bikini, for example. My skin simply doesn't have the required elasticity any more. But that doesn't mean I need to put up with a roll of flab and a thick middle. Through lifestyle changes, I have achieved a nice shape with a small waist, which looks great in clothes. I approach all aspects of my appearance in the same way. What can realistically be done with the amount of time, money and effort I can put in and the raw material I have to work with.

@Mama1978 I am trying to get better at it in terms of the progress I have made after a significant weight loss. Some days I think about what I wish and other times I remember how far I have come and congratulate myself on it. I enjoy the clothes I wear and the fact that I have a lot more choice now compared to what I used to have. I think for me it all boils down to being the best version of me that I can be.

My legs have always had little bumpy bits (lipomas), stretch marks, cellulite and are pale.

I had a couple of the bigger lipomas removed surgically and I’ve built some muscle definition in my legs now (weight training). I slap on a bit of fake tan and they don’t look too bad. I also give my thighs a good exfoliating scrub in the shower and I think it improves the circulation and cellulite a bit.

I wouldn’t necessarily don a pair of shorts, but quite happy in a bikini on the beach now.
