Super comfortable mid-height heels

Can anyone recommend a brand or specific style of really comfortable heels? I want to wear heels for my wedding because I just think they look better (and I like feeling tall) but I generally find even modest heels uncomfortable and don’t last long before having to take them off. I was thinking a mid block heel for maximum stability. Undecided on colour (maybe white, maybe gold/silver/sparkly) or whether sandal or closed toe- can be flexible on the details for the right shoe!

Brands like M&S and Gabor aim for comfort. However unfortunately I think there’s no substitute for going round the shops and trying a load on. It really all depends on what fits your particular foot, so it’s hard to recommend for you.

In general I would say look for some sort of padding in the sole though - under the ball especially. Some flex in the shoe sole. No thin straps. And definitely not too pointy!

Thank you! I tried on some rainbow club shoes which had padding in the toe and that seemed nice, but I’m not sure which brands have padding in the sole/ball- is it a style by style thing or are some brands more likely?

A shoe's comfort is largely dependent on the last it has been made on and the shape of the wearer's foot.

It is also worth considering that during the course of the day and evening, feet can swell a little. I was always told to buy shoes at the end of the day, never the beginning. Add in seasons and warmer weather, I know some of my shoes are larger when the weather is cold and tighter when it is warm. And, I will recommend what I do, particularly when I buy high(er) heels - I buy a half size larger than my usual size - I'm a 37.5 and in heels I take a 38. I always insert a leather half sole as I find some extra padding for the ball of my sole makes them more comfortable. If I have bought shoes for a particular occasion, wearing them in first, even if it is just around the house is a must.

Rather than taking recommendations, look for styles you like and then go and try them on. With a budget of £300, you should be able to find brands that make half sizes too.
