Adult braces for teeth

Hi all! Does anyone have any experience with having braces as an adult?
I have what I believe to be an overcrowding issue with both my top and bottom
set and would love a brace to correct. I don’t mind wether it be Invisalign or standard metal. I’d take anything!
just looking to see if anyone has had them as an adult and the cost etc involved?
thank you! X

@JKDcot how do you feel now? I’m on day 2 of fixed braces and although they don’t really hurt, I’m gating how they look and already sick of not being able to eat/ drink what I like

@Isthisit22 I felt exactly the same and to be honest the first 3-4 weeks made me worried I’d make the wrong decision bothering with braces. Mainly annoying to not be able to eat what you want and also feeling self conscious talking. But I promise you it gets better. I’m a few months in, I’ve got used to them, my teeth have already shifted and look better. Try and take it day by day.

I do recommend getting a water pik and using it after you eat as it’s important to feel they are clean. You’ll be great!

@JKDcot I felt the same, literally wanted to prise them off.

I eat most things, just cut crusty food up.

Continually picking with a toothpick st home. Avoid salads out, the leaves get stuck like glue!

Now four years in I'm kind of used to them.

(Very crowded mouth)
