Just wondering if anyone would like a kind space to share section friendly finds or get moral support/TLC when nothing fits the same or you are in pain and juggling a new baby?

I think this is a brilliant idea- it's not an easy time and tips and support would hopefully help

starsareblazing · 03/05/2023 17:15

I would love this! Am due to have my first section in a few weeks time so any support and advice would be so helpful :)

Boymama84 · 03/05/2023 17:18

Yes please due a section (first one) in august and already not feeling my best after first baby in 2021

Garman · 03/05/2023 17:21

Great idea, after 3 csections I have an immovable shelf that makes me need skirts & trousers 1-2 sizes bigger than my legs need and everything sits wrong 😩

user1485155050 · 03/05/2023 17:32

Such a good idea! I'm 3 months post partum and I don't know whether I'm coming or going style wise

Bringmecaffeine · 03/05/2023 17:32

Two emergency sections accessorized with an additional post op infection scar here 😅

The shelf is real!

Plus, needing breastfeeding friendly clothes means dresses that might skim over the shelf don't work! 😭

AbsolutePixels · 03/05/2023 19:47

Tip: take high-dose vitamin c after the birth to promote wound healing.

Yep - it's the holy grail to find something that skims the section podge and is BF friendly...and on trend?!? 🤯

Granny pants. Massive huge ones.

I used to wear a nice baggy top which would hide my podge and wear a vest underneath so I could flop the boob out to breastfeed.

user1485155050 · 04/05/2023 11:26

I've actually reverted to skinny jeans. I know they're supposedly out of style at the moment but they look so much better with a loose fitting top. I'll just have to face the wrath of the fashion police for now 😂

QueenMortificado · 04/05/2023 11:27

I’m a huge fan of palazzo pants with a tight fitting top underneath, they’re nice and high waisted so hide any c section shelf

For me they sit out from above my C-section shelf adding an extra few sizes to the rest of my lower half shape 😞

Bringmecaffeine · 04/05/2023 15:52

I have tried a tucked top in so many ways- each time I've pulled it out and reverted back to the old faithful longer length top over jeans- I just look slimmer and feel better when the podge shelf is covered. I will persist.

I had my first post baby shopping expedition last week and 99.9% of things I tried on didn't work for my scar and shelf combo.

For those looking for BF ideas - you could try the FB group Can I Breast Feed In It and their buy and sell group (CIBII B&S).

I saw a shirred top dress that might work for feeding and skimming a c section tum.

Good luck to any mums to be with elective sections coming up

I got some knickers from Amazon that go under bump for when I was pregnant with a section scar, I can link if needed. Very comfortable on the scar. Not too hideous looking 🫤

Post op I actually wore black disposable always pants and then cheeky pants in max absorbency for the lovely lochia stage (heads up it's a bit heavier after a section than a vaginal delivery).

Please can I ask how long it takes for the shelf to appear? Does everyone get it? I’m 8 weeks post op!

Lemursandions · 04/05/2023 18:53

Not everyone gets one no! I didn’t after two c sections at all.

I recently had an open myomectomy ( fibroid removal) though and now have one - which looks even weirder as the myomectomy scar is higher. It’s kind of depressing ..

Garman · 04/05/2023 19:13

Yeah not everyone gets it. I didn't after my first, only slightly after my second but more pronounced after my third.
