Frumpy or fab?

Just that really. I'm 44, no clue when it comes to fashion. I like these and think they're on trend. Don't want to make a costly mistake and end up look like a middle aged frump (even though I am one!) What do you reckon?

Thank you all. I'm really on the fence with these. I doubt my wardrobe is edgy enough to make these look trendy. I love some of the other suggestions but I'm on a really tight budget. £195 for some sandals makes me wince to be honest. Dh reckons they're a bit old lady too. I do think the name is everything though. Some of the trendy brand ie fitflop and birkenstock etc have some really clumpy old fashioned sandals but I think the brand gives them an air of coolness.

You can get many decent pairs of sandals for less than 195 pounds!

I think it depends what you want them for. If they are for walking around in comfort then they look fine but you could get equally comfortable ones for much less. If they are for going out in the evening they are a bit clunky.

I think they look a bit dated. I think it's the buckle and the heel. Have a look on outlet sites for fitflops, birkenstocks, etc that you like - I use Shuperb's sale section or BrandAlley. MandMdirect also have some options.

These are in style right now and a great price.

I prefer Birkenstocks tbh, and they're not as expensive. Sale on at the moment:

Birkies are not as expensive as the £195 ones I meant

Not for me OP but I don't know if these would be your cup of tea? (Currently eyeing them up myself)...

Hiking sandals

MultipleVeganPies · 01/05/2023 20:32

What would you wear with them? With a boho or fashion style they might look on trend

with more classic styles they’d be frumpy…. But frumpy and granny core is trendy right now 😁 headfuck!

trust your instincts
