'Glamming up' holiday wardrobe

I've been trying unsuccessfully to find a thread on this from a year or two ago, so starting another one with my own specific questions.
The thread was about how you can look more 'glam' on summer holidays. I seem to recall answers included sunglasses, jackets, decent bag/shoes, manicures etc

I have a fairly ancient collection of holiday clothes, am loathe to buy new clothes as am starting to lose weight so want to use what I already have for a June holiday (will hopefully have lost weight by next trip in August when i will reward myself with new clothes).

so am looking for inexpensive ideas for glamming up what i have (or more expensive that aren't body size dependent)

i usually wear cropped trousers or shorts and vest tops when on trips out, with trainers or walking sandals, or
Linen summer dresses withwedges or flat shoes.
Evenings either linen trousers and sheer tops or slightly nicer dresses.

All a bit 'meh' but then i see people wearing similar who just look more glam, can't work out why other than they are taller and slimmer than me. The former i can't change, the latter is changing but not in time for June.

i know this is all a little vague but would appreciate any suggestions

Choose a colour palette so that everything mixes and matches well. Neutrals, creams, tan, khaki, black for example. See it right through to bikinis and cover ups as well. So, "shop your wardrobe" as they say for the bits you have that fit a capsule style. I'm not keen on all the clothes that have bloody palm leaves and similar which seem to be necessary to indicate you are 'on holiday' - I think they are more difficult to make look glam than plain separates. Cotton and linen work best.

I'm going on holiday in June and have chosen black, grey and white with some blue. I've got a pair of white sandals and a pair of tan which will go with everything. A tan wicker beach bag. A tan braided belt, a nice big floppy hat. Tortoiseshell sunglasses ( black looks too harsh on me). Gold hoops and a couple of gold necklaces and that's me done. The only new bit I've bought is a blue and white dress from H&M which I can wear loose or smarten up with the belt.

I'll have a spray tan before I go, get my nails and toes done. I take gradual tanner body lotion with me to keep on top of the tan situation.
I don't wear tons of make up on holiday, just a bit of tinted moisturiser, cream bronzer, lip oil and mascara.

Some great tips there @LadyOfTheCanyon, thank you. Really good point about choosing a palette - last time i went away i had things which went with navy and things which went with black - which just means double the amount of shoes/bags/jackets etc. Having everything mix & match is something i will work on! And leaves more weight for the accessories that will make the difference in the overall look.
Thank you
