Help me glam up... but not too much

I'm pretty comfortable in my skin, and like how I dress day to day, but just occasionally I would like to be able to dress up.
Anyway, I recently bought this dress for a few quid in a charity shop. It is silk, I really like the colours and print and think it has a bit of a 1920s vibe going on. I'd like to wear it, but have absolutely no idea what to wear with it.
Any advice on how I could pull it off... while still feeling like myself?
In particular, what shoes? To give an idea of where I'm coming from, I currently own a pair of black dm boots, assorted trainers / walking shoes, some silver birkenstocks (the flip flip style ones that I don't find very comfortable for walking in so hardly wear), and some chunky red/brown dm sandals. I don't do heels, or even 'dainty' flats, and can't imagine what I could put on my feet that i would feel comfortable in and would work with this dress.

It's a 60s style that dress. Love the print, Flatform espadrilles, round straw bag, chunky gold bracelet?

First thought, get 4cm off the end of the dress. It's a lovely dress but the length is a bit meh. Just take it up a bit. Your legs do not need to be hidden.

Yes I agree with @Fuerza shorten the dress and go all 1960s with it as suggested by @wibblewobbleball

This is a perfect dress for the summer with a straw hat.

Espadrilles is a good call. And shortening the dress too, as I agree about the length - would never have occurred to me. Thanks both.

Thanks for the suggestions. Definitely like the idea of taking it up a bit. It currently comes a little below the knee - anyone want to talk me through the best length for it?

I'd take it up to either of these lines, depending on your preference. I think it needs to hit above the kneecap.
