The funeral of a crime boss

Exactly my thought 😂

Even better if you're a "mystery woman" and no one in the family knows who you are. You also need a large, nay massive, black hat.

I could write a whole script but I need to hang some washing out.

Zipps · 30/04/2023 10:08

Anywhere. I can't see how you would have a problem wearing it to death tbh. It's gorgeous and really looks very wearable.

Too funny!! Thank you all so much for the really helpful tips... I have been overthinking it .... off to buy a massive black hat ... ;)

I may keep my eye out for this in sales ... those of you who wear Cos, can I ask how you find sizing?

I've some plot to add ...

A character played by Monica Belluci spots you in the crowd and instantly feels dowdy when she clocks how amazing you look. Unfortunately this means you are now on her hit list ...

I love that this thread has deduced that the “look at me” element is an asymmetric hem 😆

At a funeral bare arms and an assymetric hem would be look at me.

I have quite a number of assymetric hems. An assymetric hem is a look at me style - it's kind of the point of them to stand out from ordinary hems.

But first she needs to find out who you are... 🤨

Quite generous

Lovely dress OP
I have bought two simple black dresses from Cos this spring and am now just waiting for the weather to sort itself out so I can wear them. The quality is lovely and they fit so well.

Oh, I like that! To work, with a black or off-white linen blazer and either chunky sandals or black ballet pumps, depending on weather (where I am you’d currently need a raincoat, jumper, tights and wellies but this would be perfect for summer days when it’s warm enough for bare legs). I’m wondering if it would be good over a thin long-sleeved top (Cos do some sheer ones) on cooler days. Don’t think I’d wear with a cardie or jumper, it’s too architectural for that. A man’s crisp khaki shirt might be a good top layer.

ProstituteHair · 30/04/2023 14:30

Nice dress!

I have a very similar one and have worn it with either black Ginzas from The Row or cream linen Arizonas for casual, and then barely-there kitten heels also from The Row (dupes are available!).

Keep accessories simple.

It's really versatile, I'd wear it everywhere really.

Large black sunglasses are however, compulsory.

An asymmetric hem is very racy 😁.

Maireas · 30/04/2023 15:55

Good call on the styling, @MaryLennoxsScowl - I can see that really working. Just avoid white trainers and a denim jacket, mix it up a bit.

Oh fgs of course it's not "racy" but an assymetric hem dipped at the side like is meant to be noticed. And that's fine, no problem with that. I like look at me outfits.

nofusspot · 30/04/2023 19:31

It's so glam! Perhaps a bbq or for lunch?

Where I am they pretty much mean the same thing.
