I need some help!

Due to health issues and resulting medication, I have gained a ridiculous amount of weight and am in need of new bras.

Using boob or bust, I measure in at 42JJ. I've ordered 3 different styles so far and all have been awful- the wire comes up very far on my chest and does not sit flush.

I normally wear balconette bras (underwired, non-padded) but have only been able to find underwired full cups (which I think is why I haven't been happy with the fit compared to my "normal") and non-wired which I'm not keen on as can't imagine they'd be too supportive (correct me if I'm wrong!).

The only balconette style bras I can find in JJ cup go up to a 38" underbust. Could I use bra extenders to "fit the gap"? Would I need to go up in cup size if I order 38" underbust?

Failing that, can anyone recommend the best place to order from (I'm limited to online shopping due to health).

Marks and Spencer Flexifit, supportive and comfortable just not pretty.

Boob or Bust was a load of nonsense for me, I just need to try on loads and see what fits depending on style/ make.

I'm a 36GG according to Bravissimo but spent a lot of money on one of their bras and it's really uncomfortable.
I tried 2 different measuring methods and ordered bras none of which were any good. I've ended up back at M and S and found some decent bras from their larger size range. I also found it much better being able to try them on in store than faffing about with online shopping and then having to return them all.

Is there an independent bra shop near to you? I’ve found they are the best for fitting. Especially if they fit by eye and not measurement

You need to go into bravissimo and have them ‘measure’ you. They are really good and if they fit you and the bras end up being uncomfortable they will exchange them.

I went recently and got measured at m&s and was shocked I was wearing a size so wrong sized. Makes a difference to get fitted a get good fitted bra and then I buy cheaper ones once I have the size right elsewhere. Really does make a difference to posture also and how comfortable you feel in clothes and gives a good lift.

I use be a bra fitter for 17 years, it really is hit and miss with measurements, some time a customer can go in the fitting room with ten bras and three could fit but be slightly different sizes, as all brands don't fit the same, sorry but its really better if you can get to a store to try on, just to add I tried the boob or bust, and it didn't work for me.

I'd recommend Elomi for bras in your size, if you haven't tried them. Maybe call them?
Bravissimo I think will also do fittings over the phone or on video call if you order from them.

I do not find M&S good. I'm a 36J/34JJ and they don't have a lot in my size.
I do occasionally use an extender, so that's worth a go if the cup fits.
